'7' 902 Posted June 10, 2003 well, the booth is a joke we all know that too much Sam Ryan and Darren Pang doing interviews after the game, what's important is the Stanley Cup presentation! Watching the guys hoist the Cup! No need to cut away to interviews every 10 second!ugh, and that guy proposing to his dog was just unnecessary.getting it right is extremely important, because you never know when this is it. We may win again next year......or it we might not touch it for a while. Ask any Ranger/Islanders/Flyer/Sabre/Leaf/Blackhawk/Bruin fan
HellOnICE 95 Posted June 10, 2003 WOOOOOOOOOOOOW OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ITS ALL I CAN SAY.
Volvagia 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Agreed. Hopefully next year they don't cover Ducks games and/or they get sold so the "internal interest" isn't there.
Dr. Death 0 Posted June 10, 2003 I thought ABC did a decent job with the coverage at the end. I can't complain.
StarDew 13 Posted June 10, 2003 ABC coverage SUCKS!!!

njdjlc 2 Posted June 10, 2003 Joke is an understatement!!! Did you notice how many times, they couldn't even get Devs names right (EX: "Scott" Stevenson) Please!!and those constant changing camera angles were giving me a headache. Too many interviews. (Look it's Meg Ryan) Plus that couple getting engaged at the end Give me a break!!!HEY BUT WE STILL GOT THE CUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!CONGRATS TO ALL
Beck27 14 Posted June 10, 2003 They gave us more time than in 2000. This was still their worst nightmare.
devilsrule33 189 Posted June 10, 2003 I can't believe how ABC's post game show is so short.
KYdevil 0 Posted June 10, 2003 I really enjoyed how after winning the cup we got to see Anahiem all upset more than any celebration. Good thing the Ducks left the ice, or else we wouldnt have seen anyone carry the cup either.
SBT 0 Posted June 10, 2003 ABC/ESPN coverage has always been biased against NJ.And probably always will be.But it still doesn't change the fact that NJ has won the Stanley Cup.

Lady Stanley 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Chris Berman is a buffoon. He reminds me of Chris Farley. All he needed was a pair of black glasses, and then to tell us that he's "going back to living in his van, down by the river!"LORD STANLEY'S CUP IS BACK HOME!!! NJDF 2 Posted June 10, 2003 Chris Berman is a buffoon. He reminds me of Chris Farley. All he needed was a pair of black glasses, and then to tell us that he's "going back to living in his van, down by the river!"Not completely....he did pick us in 7. GO DEVILS!!! devs23 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Chris Berman is pathetic - he spits out hockey facts and he expects us to believe he's a hockey announcer? Talk about stupid...
Z-Man 28 Posted June 10, 2003 MSG's post game was horrible, too. Seemed like 25 minutes of Chico and Gianonne, and 5 minutes of interviews at Loughlin's desk. No locker room interviews. Terrible.
devs23 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Friesen is just going to get better and better, reminds me of Lemieux, but with more scoring finesse
LetsGoDevils 0 Posted June 10, 2003 I'm surprised "Mr. Ego" Roy didn't get a seat at the game just so ABC could put his face on tv and he could steal more media time.
thegame346 0 Posted June 10, 2003 I personally think ABC's coverage blew. Too much Anaheim cinderella story crap. It was like the Devils didn't even exist. The Camera angles have to go I just can not watch a hockey game like that. The only angle I did like was the one behind the Goalie I thought that one did a good job of seeing how a goalie sees the play.
LetsGoDevils 0 Posted June 10, 2003 Well, Lou does frown on letting the Press near the players, so I think that can add to the pro-Duck stories we saw. I swear I was hoping the woman would say No to the idiot's marriage proposal.
thegame346 0 Posted June 10, 2003 He proposed anyway??? What an idiot.
ice dog 0 Posted June 10, 2003 cbc probably had reporters up marty's ass, but here in the states we get sportscenter and promos for us open golf **gag**
Pepperkorn 82 Posted June 10, 2003 BBC news coverage was cute. They mispronounced Giguere like any good Brit would and the female host got all giddy about Stevens...
peteyvegas 7 Posted June 10, 2003 Z-man's right. I was disappointed in MSG's coverage. They had a new show on and they started promptly at 11:30. The interviews were short and no lockerroom. Channel 12 NJ did a decent job, considering that they're hardly media. But, Where the F**K is YES? Doesn't that network work within its own structure? Hey George!! You got a f***in winner here!!! Cant you twist a couple of arms??? Anyway, going to bed last night left me feeling happy and empty at the same time. Maybe another 10 mins of press conference would've made it easier. Thanks to you guys for being a great group to go through the games with.
vadvlfan 52 Posted June 10, 2003 I thought coverage was great! Of course I wish there was more post-gamein the locker room stuff. They did all they could to hype it up. I feel a lot different than most folks. THe ABC production is done for the benefit of the casual or non hockey fan, not hardcore hockey fans. IMHO hats off to them & ESPNvince
