No Langs is not getting traded, bought out whatever. He's a Lou favorite. I get that 'someone' might get ****canned because of how bad the team's been lately and it's not going to be Lemaire because he's like Lou's long-lost brother but it won't be him either.

Not that I see any of the other big players being traded either though (unless he buys out Lemaire's son Rolston), I don't really know what Lou can do aside from hoping when everyone gets back in March things will click in time for April. He already shot his bolt as far as an eye-opening acquisition.

you do not have a strong case on langenbrunner being a throwaway captain - he's also the captain from team USA. he's also signed at 2.9 million and has a ton of points this year. i do not understand the absurdly jaundiced viewpoint you have taken over the last month. langenbrunner has 117 points in his last 149 games, he came back from arthroscopic surgery in a week to play for the team in last year's playoffs; he is not going anywhere.

"Lemaire's son Rolston" I am using that for the remainder of Rollie's NHL career! Priceless!

I don't understand why he's the Captain of Team USA, to be honest. but Burkie and Lou are tight, so...

something is going to happen. he only has one more year left on his deal. who knows if he's going to be around with all of the kids that are coming into the system... *it's just a hunch*.

something is going to happen and there's a limited amount of people you can move. I wouldn't take Rolston for a bag of broken lightbulbs.

Tonight's attendance was announced at 5,580, which it looked a lot less than that.

The announcement came in the 2nd period for all the fans in the upper levels to come down to the lower level for the rest of the game. I was fortunate to get great club seats right near the glass...Very classy of the Devils to do this for all the brave fans that made it to this game.

Unfortunately I thought I was watching a repeat game of Monday night in Philadelphia. WTF! Two games back to back with the Flyers and having 2-0 leads in both games only to lose both games 3-2! This is usually unheard of here with this Devils team. losing to the rangers and now the Flyers twice in three straight divison games is just no good. Devils now lose the season series to the Flyers with this OT loss. Devils are only one point now in 1st place and they really need to salvage a win on home ice on Friday night vs. Nashville before going into the Olympic break.

Devils now 6-10-2 in their last 18-games in this slump.

The Flyers have won four of their last six overall.

The Devils have lost five of their last six vs. Philadelphia.

New Jersey was held to two goals or fewer in 11 of its last 14 games.

Something is really wrong with this team right now and hopefully on March 2nd in San Jose the Devils will be getting back Clarkson and Martin in the line up. They are missed, but it is more than just these two players with this recent slump. giving up leads and blowing games is just not Devils hockey. Something needs to be done...

The Olympic break couldn't come any sooner for the Devils...

yeah i don't know why either, 2 stanley cups and a captain in the NHL. jaundice ftw.

langenbrunner isn't one of them. nothing significant is going to happen. this isn't a problem that gets solved with trades, there's not players underperforming (besides rolston who i don't really count as a player any more, he's just a guy who shows up and wears a uniform, he's like a glum mascot), it's something that's going to work itself out. i'd bet $10 at 100-1 that langenbrunner will be a devil on march 4 and i'll go out and spend that extra $10 confidently.

How did they determine who could get the club seats? First come first serve? Did you get the free food and the whole deal? I am very curious as to how this worked...

Well that and there really aren't any other candidates on Team USA, the only other two guys with any international experience are Rafalski (who's never been a C at any point in his life) and Drury who's basically on the Rangers' fourth line he's been so miserable this year

isn't that +EV for me if Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) is, well, Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate)...

to be fair, you could say the same thing, 2 cups and a captain, about the other guy. and the rest of the team is kids. me, I would have made Parise the C, what's the worst that can happen...

edit: and as pointed out above, it's possible the other guy might not even play

parise isn't even the captain on his own team and he's won exactly nothing in his career. look, i'm not big on captains making a difference at all, the point is that langenbrunner was the odds-on selection for the team USA captain and that that's a pretty big deal. i wouldn't trade langenbrunner because he's still an excellent value, not because he's the captain. you're like 'i don't know if we could get anything back for him, but i think we'll deal the guy'.

Jamie has shown himself to be a very good leader in his whole career, including on this team. You're nuts if you think otherwise, and that's a fact. No need to put hat kind of pressure on Zach.

I really don't see the pressure. they're not expected to do that much. the pressure on the other guys is alot worse, basically, the biggest pressure on the US team is that they could see some very negative crowds, if the junior tournaments are any indication of what will happen

+EV .. you give yourself away, sir.

you're laying me 100-1. Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) gets less than 50-1, we're both pulling it out of our asses...

I've said it a million times in recent weeks...so I'll do it again

We need to get a center who can win a faceoff.

We need to get defensemen who skate the puck to safety and and move the puck up the ice, so we can hit the forwards with some speed.

Thanks for playing.

Kudos to the Defense tonight. Thought they played up to their potential. It's a shame we're so shorthanded back there.

Yes it was first come 1st serve in the black club seats. Also got the free food and drinks. I saw fans from other sections near the club seats going for food and drinks as well. It was just a classy move by the Devils organization for all the brave fans that showed up.

There were also some Flyers scumbag, trash fans taking advantage of this as well. You for sure wouldn't see this in their fvcking dump/arena! I hope they realize after tonight how much class our organization has compared to theirs...

Well Langs also has a no-trade so it isn't like he is easier to move than Rolston and I fi had to choose who to keep and how to move I'm moving Rolston.

hmmm, forgot about that. 100-1 not so good of a value then. is it a real no-trade or one of those Gomez no-trades? don't remember

Based on what Cap Geek has it looks to be a full. Again I don't think the Devils will even try to move him. He is struggling now but he by far is the least of the teams problems, and I don't think they have to spend that much in terms of assets to fix a large chunk of the problems.

I do think next year will be Langenbrunner's last year as a Devil though.

So when i was at the game i got like 3 texts saying some fan was on TV making a certain "gesture." If you saw it you know what I'm talking about....is there video of this?

I saw it. Pretty funny, especially since they were showing fans in the crowd and Chico and Steve were talking about the fans who came out in the weather. Cangialosi didn't seem to know what to say.
