Pepperkorn
Well - that wasnt at all what I expected. glad I went to my book club wow... drive home sucked though. No one who even matters will take responsibility for this loss.... no one's ass is smarting from the sound drubbing it received. This whole team is a giant Jeff Friesen talking about doing all the right things and stuff just not falling into place -- what good is it if they shake their heads and say "Jeez just you know a total lack of effort from us" Who the HELL wants to "Give those Flyers credit" ?!?! This team obviously -- this organization who isn't doing jack sh!t to fix it. Fire Lemaire ??? who cares when you won't replace with anyone? Get a halfassed might have been vet center? Of course he's not bad -- but I canNOT even hack Broduer. Leadership my hairy ass! I have no problem with that -- but I wish you all would accept and ADMIT the man couldn't lead the team out of a paper bag! He's NOT a leader and if ANYONE is looking to him it's not wonder they're so fvcked up. Jamie is a whining pissed off baby - it's not fire to be admired, it;s self-righteous pissing and moaning with an edge. that's --- you know -- organizing a group outing and all that happy horsesh!t - it's not having your fingers on the pulse of the team. Lou's not looking at the right traits to see his leadership. Popularity isn't leadership - being the older brother type is not leadership - being an on ice star isn't leadership. If Pat Burns loved him and wanted him as Captain -- it's because the COACH could provide the necessary leadership. That's rare. It's all fvcking rare - and you know - you dont KNOW what makes the winning combo - you don't. I'm happy with the team - but the organization doesn't trust the system and doesn't understand what parts make the whole - if Lou gets to say he can't find the parts then this whole fvcking team gets to say Jeepers boss we just coudlnt' put it all together and all those organizationally endorsed loser sound bytes right back in your face. Throwing a jar of fvcking jelly isn't going to change a damm thing -- I could have told you that (I'm a thrower well - a reformed thrower.) Motorcity Devil
Heard this speech a lot this year, they all gave it JL was a dog-crap strategist and coach, but he is one of the greatest players of all time. Who knows what some players feel they are learning from him on and off thei ice. He's a classy individual, and maybe some superstars are just glad to have a chance to spend so much time with one of the greats. This doesn't make him a good (or even average) coach... Clearly, the game has passed JL by. Thanks for the memories (but beat it now).
PaDevsFan
Great listening to this stuff, Parise certainlhy didnt endorse the "line shuffling" Stan asked him about it, and he didnt say YES it was the problem, but he didnt say no it wasnt an issue either... Also even the NHL network guys are saying there was a serious issue with Langs and the Coach. They were saying this team played with no heart, and that comes from the room and is supposed to be broadcast by the captain and it just wasnt. Langs if you are still "sulking" about not playing an 82 game season or whatever THANKS ALOT for your disapearing act this series!!

Prucenterrules
What a disgrace. This team had no heart at all. I would have rather have had the lowell devils on that ice tonight. MAJOR CHANGE NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!

Pepperkorn
Man you could see and hear the hurt in the Parise and Elias interviews. Hurt huh? Yeah -- that really gets a lot of W's in your box huh? Hurt -- what a crock of sh!t that is. Not you goat -- just fvck hurt -- fvck anyone who allows themselves to waste the time on it even. Win or fvcking move on. Hurt WHY is no one saying I'm not saying a fvckING WORD BECAUSE I'M A fvckING LOSER! I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY FOR MYSELF AND DO NOT DESERVE TO fvckING SPEAK FOR THIS TEAM OR ORGANIZATION GO TALK TO fvckING BRACES MAN - It's his place to spout the bullsh!t for the team. (now I am not saying Marty lost this series for us AT ALL -- Im just saying his mind is on himself and that's cool - he's a goalie. So why not let him say all that crap? he did his job enough - he's a winner so he can excuse all the losers he's surrounded by. Seriously -- he's touchy feely warm fuzzy sentimental man who has time for family and winkwink friends and trips to the orthodontist so what the fvck let him field all the bullsh!t) Edited April 23, 2010 by Pepperkorn

Embarrassing?? Hell yes!! Bounced by a team that got in the playoffs via shootout.

PaDevsFan
Whats really amazing is watching the body language of this team. The announcers were even talking about it. When they wer eonly down 1 - 0 tonight, they were saying how this team had their heads down, looked down on the bench etc. What the hell?? Elimination game down by 1 and you are giving up at home?? My god look at freakin Ottawa tonight. Up by 2 Pitt comes back and takes the lead in the 3rd in Pitt, they should have given up right?? They kept fighting and tied it. Even they showed more heart than this gutless team!!

nmigliore
Heh, and sorry for the cross-sport reference, but.... this was kind of like the Cardinals' season last year. They have a great year, trade for an excellent player near the trade deadline (Holliday), end up winning the division, get a bad matchup in the 1st round (Dodgers), and go out very quietly. Lets hope the similarities continue in that we resign the excellent player we traded for at the deadline (Kovalchuk)...
devlman
This was the year we were supposedly rebuilding. Im disappointed Jaques didnt give more playing time to Davis, Palmieri, Zharkov, Eckford. Those guys im sure wouldve played harder than guys like Zajac, Niedermayer

Motorcity Devil
Pardon me - but disrespectful? That is so fvcking over used They're not disrespectful -- they're just losers. You don't think they disrespected the fans by not even showing up tonight? People literally SCRAPE together money to come to the Rock and show their support for the team. To have a night out away from what ever it is they are worried about from 9-5, while most of these guys get paid the equivalent of a brand new car - or even a house - to play a fvcking GAME; yet the players can't bring themselves to apply themselves for more than a shift or two? Pardon me - but that IS disrespectful... Show some fvcking respect for the game and the fans at least. That's not over used, that's just the truth. (and yes, you are right, they suck) Edited April 23, 2010 by Motor City Devil
HellOnICE
I'll post more of a post-mortem in the future, but for now. I'm awfully disappointed in the corner sections tonight, talk about lack of feistiness, or clever chants when the game was out of reach. I wanted to some fun chants at least. I was screaming my lungs out at times, but I'm downstairs.... c'mon, those 30 Flyers fans in the corner can be heard, it's not that hard. I think the crowd got their energy from the team. 99 Game 7 this was not.

Marv4Life
Is Kovalchuk drunk? “I think Jacques is one the best coaches in the league,” Kovalchuk said. “The way he coached the team, it’s unbelievable. I was kind of shocked because I heard a lot of things about him. I heard he’s all defense and I think he taught me a lot and he made me a way better player. The way he coached, the way he sees the game, it’s unebelievable. It’s an honor to play for those kind of coaches. He’s great.” Edited April 23, 2010 by Marv4Life
