Chicago has scored 5 goals and hasn't even had a power play yet to Philly's 4.

Chicago is such the better team its sickening but they've played incredibly sloppy and have had so sh!tty luck to this point. If Chicago actually tightens up their defense and gets a couple of powerplays they'll roll the Flyers.

Chicago leads 1-0

Philadelphia friggen BLEW this game. When you're the underdog and the much better team is playing like crap you can't give them every chance in the world to escape that crappy of an effort. Philly loses this series this is the game where they barfed it up.

Chicago didn't even have a power play tonight either.

Philly won't win this series playing like this and Leighton was a pylon tonight.

Laviolette left him in too long.

Glad to see Chicago starting it off the right way. Surprised how high-scoring the game was, but it seems the caliber goaltending is starting to show.

Meh heh.

Niemi finally settled in and Philly's achilles heel killed them as it always does..........in the crease.

Neither team's top line did a heck of a lot tonight. Both team's 2nd lines played great especially Hossa, Brouwer, and Briere and Chicago's 3rd line played amazing.

Philly really attacked the Campbell-Hjalmerson defense pairing and Chicago tooled on every Philly defensive pairing that didn't have Pronger on it. Even Pronger had an "eh" game too. 3 Chicago goals resulted from 3-4 Philly players puckwatching flat footed behind the net leaving Brouwer wide open in front.

Again I believe Philly had this friggen game handed to them on a silver platter by Chicago playing like crap for 2 periods plus the Flyers getting every break imaginable but the Flyers peed themselves completely. You don't win Stanley Cup Finals just giving games away like that when you're the solid underdog.

Game 1

Philadelphia

Coburn -3

Gagne -3

Carter -2

Richards -2

van Riemsdyk -2

Giroux -2

Chicago

Toews -3

Byfuglien -3

Kane -3

Well there's the difference. Chicago's 1st line blew chunks but Philly's 1st and 3rd lines also blew chunks.

Carcillo in and JVR is out for tonight's Game 3.

IMHO this is an uncharacteristic panic move by Laviolette (probably with heavy guidence from above) to put Carcillo into the line-up to mix things up. Problem is the Flyers, playing without Carcillo in Game 1, scored 5 goals and stayed out of the box. You insert Carcillo and his tired act will result in Chicago's lethal power play finally getting into the series and skewering Philly (don't forget that the NHL is WELL AWARE that McCreary and O'Halloran let Philly get away with murder in Game 1). My prediction is that Chicago gets at least the first 2-3 non-automatic calls tonight.

JVR had a bad game but frankly he's been one of the main reasons Philly has made it this far. Philly's giant advantage over both New Jersey and Boston (once Krejci got hurt) was that JVR turned Philly's 3rd line into a lethal line especially when paired against the Rob Neidermayer's, Dean McAmmond's, and Shawn Thronton's of the world. Hell thanks to JVR Aaron Asham will get a nice contract next year.

Panic move for Philly.

Chicago dominating territorially but is trying too hard for the perfect play. Leighton is being himself kicking out some giant rebounds but Chicago's got to hit the friggen net. They've missed the net like crazy especially high over Leighton's glove.

End 2

2-0 Hawks

Hossa and his linemates Brouwer and Sharp are in beast mode tonight. Hossa pots the first goal by simply going to the net instead of hoping for the perfect play.

Then Ben bleeping Eager snaps a David Clarkson toedrag special over Leighton's glove from 50 feet out.
