Neb00rs
There will be, and please don't call me surely... I don't mean to be a tool but if you're going to use that joke/quote from Airplane, at least do it correctly.
Devs1965
Even though if Kovy goes anywhere (which he is not) I personally would rather see him go to the KHL then another NHL team. But he has stated more times that he wants to win in the NHL, and it is true if he goes to Russia he will disappear in the media. Also he also he would be going against his mothers wishes. I just don't see it happening.

SatansDevils
TG reports tonight... It appears the NHL and NHLPA will probably agree upon a system arbitrator to rule on the Ilya Kovalchuk grievance by the end of this week. A hearing would probably would wait until early next week, though, with the ruling coming by the end of next week. http://blogs.northjersey.com/blogs/fireice/fraser_happy_to_get_deal_settled_looking_forward_to_upcoming_season/ Sooner the better, so Kovy and the NHLPA can win the case and Kovy can settle in here in New Jersey and with his team mates. Neb00rs
Oh c'mon, really? You're going to be the quote police now? Lighten up man. I said I don't want to be a tool but hey what can I say, he did use it incorrectly. Since you brought it back up...I'll explain: Just having the word "surely" in a sentence doesn't make the joke make sense. "Surely" has to be at the beginning of the sentence (as in: Surely, there will be a Russian professional hockey league 17 years from now) This was how it worked in the movie and it was funny because "Surely" is at the beginning of the sentence where you would actually say a name. Where I had "surely" in the sentence makes it so it doesn't make sense with the punchline. -With how I said it, I wasn't calling anyone "Shirley". (I said: "There will surely be a Russian professional hockey league 17 years from now.") ON a smaller note: Then, the poster's response was "Don't call me surely" The joke is that the response is, "Don't call me Shirley". I love airplane. It's a LOL movie. He butchered the joke. Airplane! is one of my all time favorites. One of those movies I watched with a bunch of friends, and I'd say 75% of the people were dieing of laughter and the rest were just kinda lost. But still a classic comedy. Edited July 29, 2010 by mmajeski06

Not to be a twat, but I disagree. I think with the post above you were the first to take out your cleaver and set to work. now, allow me to pick up my scalpel... I'd say everyone got it and laughed (who would laugh). Perhaps one might stop and consider his choice - I concluded that, in written form, he had to go with Surely over Shirley otherwise the mock misunderstanding makes less sense. To take issue with that is akin to taking issue with the verbal gag saying - "but he was clearly using surely as an adverb, not a proper name thus the joke has no merit." EDIT: WHAT? The ref just gave me 2 for Jamie Langenbrunnering! Edited July 29, 2010 by Pepperkorn

DaneykoIsGod
Would that be a verb? Or can we use as like "Dude, you're such a langenbrunner!" And Doc already has a patent on the adjective "Langenbrunnerian." It might even be in Webster's by now, a couple pages ahead of "Odeleinian." BlueSkirt
Hence why we don't hear much about jagr these days... except when he got knocked on his ass in the Olympics. That was like a visual end to any comeback talk
Triumph
except when he got knocked on his ass in the Olympics. That was like a visual end to any comeback talk yeah jagr would probably be around a 60 point power play specialist at this stage in his career. i mean, teams would want him, but he would no longer be a top-line player, and he's never been good at defense and has always taken stupid penalties.
