C'mon, Montana Fishburne? What else was she going to do but be in porn. Fishburne is an excellent porn last name btw if you think about it.

Hearing the kickball analogies brings back memories. The cool kids in my class would cheat left and right. They were always on the opposing team and would do stuff like lift your leg off base ala the Kent Hrbek/Ron Gant World Series episode. The cheating happened so much that the PE teacher finally said that if she heard someone accuse someone of cheating she'd throw the accuser out of class for that day. Lo and behold I couldn't help it during indoor soccer and I got booted. My parensts got called whole nine.

I agree with the middle school part. I come from a town where if you don't play play basketball your looked down upon. Our team here in NY won three straight state titles. Guess who was the only Hockey fan in the school?????

I remembered when we played floor hockey in my PE class one day. I checked a kid and he hit the floor, got up and snatched my stick from me.

Don't you hate it when that happens? The teachers thought they were putting a stop to the bad behavior but what they were really doing was condoning it.

I think I only got to play hockey for one or two weeks in elementary school. (Our school was PreK-8, we didn't have a middle school. Then again, it was also a Catholic school.) Our gym had folding chairs lined up all along the sides; stupid teacher tried to call me for cross-checking once when I was fighting to get the puck (actually, it was a ball) out from under a chair. How on earth could I have been cross-checking when my stick blade was on the floor the entire time?

This one time in high school we were playing lacrosse and I was in goal. (Relatively speaking; we didn't have nets, just some cones for goal posts.) This huge football player had the ball and came barreling right into me; I went flying into the bleachers (thankfully they were folded up) and ended up flat on my back. Teacher was worried that I had a concussion but I was fine. I was more concerned about whether or not the guy scored! (Either he didn't or it was disallowed due to the obvious goaltender interference.)

Another time in HS we were playing indoor wiffleball. The walls were painted such that they were white or beige or something like that until about 6 or 7 feet off the floor, and from there down to the floor they were dark blue. The blue part was treated like a typical outfield fence; if the ball hit the blue it was in play, otherwise it was a home run. Anyway, I was in right field and robbed a guy of a homer with a nice jumping catch to end the inning.

Per twitter of dchesnokov :

KHL VP Shalaev "to be honest I'm sure Kovalchuk won't be coming to Russia yet. He means too much for the NHL."

HL VP "but if Kovalchuk decides to come over, he can sign any contract; SKA will pay the luxury tax; it's democratic and free here"

laugh.gif These KHL guys are the best. Where do they come up with this stuff?

I sprained my neck playing badminton when I was in the sixth grade. I had to wear a neck brace for two weeks. It was brutal. I had to sit out of PE. I was sitting on the bleachers during class and these two little cholos were making fun of me. They surmised that I hurt my neck because I fell off the toilet while jerking off.

the only thing in PE that i was unable to do and still cant for some reason is archery. For some reason shooting a bow & arrow is difficult for me

@NJDevils26 Kovalchuk's contract was rejected and the follow up is why I'm following this story.

Not sure if he means this one or the old one

Wait nevermind, a member on TG's fire and ice blog said this was in response to a comment about the old contract

NYP_Brooksie Told that averaging highest consec 5 yrs of longterm deal as cap hit is not part of talks. Restrictions would apply to deals past 35,40 only

This is actually really good news. I couldn't imagine the PA accepting the averaging of highest cosecutive 5 years. I can see them accepting the 40+ rule.

The PA ain't taking that. That would make all cap hits on long term deals ridiculous.

I could imagine the PA accepting the average of the highest five consecutive years on 7-10 year contracts and the average of the highest 8 consecutive years on 11+ year contracts.

i interpret this differently. i interpret it as yes, the highest 5 years will be the salary cap hit, but only for deals that extend past 35 (or 40). so if for some reason an age 22 player coming off an entry level deal signed an 8 year contract, this rule would not apply to his contract.

In high school gym class we were allowed to bring our own sticks and skates, it was awesome. But then one day my friend hit the teacher square in the face with the ball while trying to dump it and we never got to play hockey again. They set it up so they split the class into three different sports and you got to pick which sport you wanted to do for that two-month or so span. When hockey wasn't available I always went for volleyball and softball, that was a lot of fun. One time the choices were fitness walking, conditioning, and basketball. Luckily that was the session I had health class instead.

Gym in middle school sucked, it was 42 minutes long and most of the time was spent running around the track. The rest of the time we played basketball. When you subtract the time they gave us to get changed before and after, and stretch, I have no idea how we managed to have any fun at all.

Hmm yea it could be read that way also... Interesting. Although he says it's "not part of talks". It seems to imply it's not part of the discussions at all...

If it's 40+, then not really. Regardless, it looks like the NHL is done accepting long term deals past 40 anyways, whether the PA likes it or not.
