H.E. Pennypacker
I have one of their albums. I used to listen to Jamiroquai waaay back when they first came out in 94 fo sho! What's wrong with Swedish metal? I'm not an Opeth fan, I tend to like the darker stuff, but The Haunted, Arch Enemy, At the Gates, that's good stuff yo! it's not just swedish heavy metal it is heavy metal in general. a horrible genre no dynamics in the music, no melody, just fvcking noise and screaming. CarpathianForest
Well H.E. lay down some of the bands you like. Mastodon, the only album I have by them is Leviathan. Pretty good overall.
ZeroGravityFat
well then you clearly didn't listen to the opeth stuff, it's far from lacking rhythm and just screaming etc. plus that is the same troll as i have inflicted on you when you classify an entire genre by the annoying commercial aspects of it. CarpathianForest
Do you like Meshuggah, Zero?
ZeroGravityFat
yea i like some of their stuff, that is the overkill of rhythm though, he pen would probably hate that too. that band is created for drummers to have a hard on. oh i also love sleepytime gorilla museum, that would classify as post metal i guess. ZeroGravityFat
see that's an example of a drummer who has no idea what a rhythm is.
CarpathianForest
Deke has got it right with The Stooges avatar. Funhouse is the only album you need if you want to hear rock and roll at it's finest. My friend recently wrote a book about the Detroit hardcore/punk scene. CarpathianForest
H.E. you should check out Pink Flag by Wire. Throbbing Gristle is great if you want to see the roots of Industrial Music. Hey, Deke, are you into stuff like D.O.A., Current 93, Coil and Destroy All Monsters. Everyone should check out the Japanese band Ghost if they want to check out some good stuff.
