Marshall
And the Tampa players call him classless etc. Link. Which gives me the lulz.
Joonas #6
Yeah, I watched the game last night and I think that was awesome. Why is it classless? Because they couldn't score?
jagknife
I was a fan of Dan Ellis, even after the whole Twitter thing in August, but he's reaching big time with his outrage over this goal, as is EVERYONE on Tampa. Ellis is mad cause he got beat 5 hole on a WEAK shot and the team's mad because someone trumped St. Louis' turn backwards and go backhand on the goalie. FFS, its not like he used the Easy Button at least then they'd have an excuse to be royally pissed.
RunninWithTheDevil
lmao seriously? classless? i thought the rags fans were whiny pussies but this is just a whole other level. haha why would anyone think this is classless? I actually thought it was pretty damn ballsy starting off with the spin. His moves distracted the goalie (THE POINT OF THE SHOOTOUT) and it worked, solid goal. Yes, shame on you, Linus Omark, for breaking the No. 1 rule of decorum in a skills competition for rookies, even if that rule is unwritten and was just invented by the Lightning. Clearly, this should have been a 15-foot wrist shot into Dan Ellis' chest instead of an electrifying game-winning goal whose initial move had the Bolts goalie out of sync and position. Where's the class, Linus? Edited December 11, 2010 by RunninWithTheDevil

Jerrydevil
I think the Lightning players badly misread what the reaction would be. That was cool.
jagknife
folks, lets be real here, wouldn't you b royally pissed if this guy embarrassed your goalie and beat your team:
Triumph
i'd hope not. the shootout is supposed to be fun. i know ellis has all these money problems and now this, his life's just not going the way he hoped, but c'mon.
Quinn01
I have to admit that was nice......But when you break it down all it was was a spin around center ice fake slap shot and then just went five hole....so it really isnt anything special. Still cool though. I thought he broke his stick on the fake slap shot. Sounded like it too. What could classify any of that as "classless"? Because he schooled Ellis? devilsfan26
I don't think it's classless, but the spin was also totally pointless. He scored because of the fake slapshot, not because he spun around in the neutral zone. Also I don't know what makes you people think the shot was bad, unless you don't realize he was faking the slapper.

It wasn't a weak shot, he completely fooled him with the fake, and St. Louis's move is at least effective because he shoots backhand, spinning around in the neutral zone is not going to dupe the goalie, so no he did not trump St. Louis's move. jagknife
Adam Proteau ProteautypeThis just in: Lightning players demand ice cream trucks stop playing music & just sell kids the damned frozen sugar milk already. that is awesome gotta love what comes about in the wake of being a bunch of babies
StarDew
That was a fantastic move and to score was the best. Guess the goalie got caught thinking WTF? LOL
Whatthechuk
Fantastic goal. The kid scores and still gets criticized.. lucky he didn't miss.
MantaRay
I don't understand what the big deal was about. Because his initial skating was fancy the Bolts are angry? If their goalie was so dazzled by that he should not be in the league, or won't be for very much longer.
Jerrydevil
Someone posted it last year, I believe: The shootout goal Omark had last year in a training match for Sweden was an amazing one, too.

ATLL765
While the spin at the beginning was unnecessary and kinda gay, but if that really caused Ellis to not make the save....then he sucks.
hystyk28
I heard David Clarkson commented that the most amazing part of the goal was that the guy skated 90 feet continously without falling down.

eldon
The only thing classless about this was Ellis & Stamkos's reactions. Grow the fvck up. And, if someone did that on Marty, no the move wouldn't piss me off, only losing the game would. Everyone knows the shootout is a spectacle, and more of a worn out novelty. I like jazzing it up a bit. And Trautwig is just an idiot, bringing up the legality of the goal saying the puck can't go backward. I watched it 7 times & on the spinaround the puck never goes backward. Jeez the Devils losing sure gets me pissed off about a lot of other subjects... jim777
He did a little spin as soon as he touched the puck; that's just a kid having fun. What they should be upset about is the ease with which he faked their goalie right out of his skates.
