Derek21
This was amazing! If you love rock'em sock'em hockey with fight after fight. Melee after melee. You should have seen what happened between the Philadelphia Phantoms and Binghamton Senators. It was pandemonium!!!!!! LOL... this was classic. The 3rd period took forever to end. I think they even ended it early with 28 secs left. Some goalie for the Sens came the length of the ice and jumped onto a pile flipping over. The game got out of hand and there were fights every minute or so when play continued. PJ Stock was in on one. So was Gordie Dwyer. So was Mike Siklenka and Jim Vandermeer. This was insane. Even former NHLer Craig Berube was involved. There was hockey played too. Binghamton won 5-1. The funniest part was when they announced the 3 Stars on Comcast. All three were Sens and each took their bow in front of the hostile crowd. All three had embarrassed grins on their faces. This was that good. It was chaos on ice and a typical AHL game between two bitter rivals. I will try to get the particulars from a boxscore and add it to this post. I know not everyone of you is fight crazy. But for diehard fans like Sheeps and MaddDog, who love these types of games, this was laugh out loud funny. A lot of people at work had it on just for the sheer entertainment value. I also noticed the producer, Ken Henderson for Comcast was the same guy I interned for once there . I hope they have footage from this. CRASHER
Mike Peluso - (Fighting Major), 5 min, 16:10 there's still just something right about seeing that in a boxscore
sheeps
P.J. Stock! Craig Berube! Mike Peluso! Oh man, all these NHLer's eh? On a side note, a friend of a friend is dating Emery of the Sens. On a second side note, I saw the Bingo Sens and it was fantastic.
Triumph
I watched the end of this game.. I realized both why fighting is so good and so bad.. it takes FOREVER to sort out brawls like these. But the fighting was pretty vicious.. with not enough linesmen to break them up, some guys were just getting beat (Berube on Hymowitz was just a beating, so were some others).. devilsrule33
Ray Emery got in on it too. He just made his first ever start in the NHL with the Sens a week ago. Also Wade Brookbank was just signed by the Sens and Denis Hamel has played with the Sens this year. Talk about a lot of NHL players and former fighters in this game. Thats a heck of a lot of penalties and fightning majors. Edited December 29, 2003 by devilsrule33

Derek21
Crap, wish I coulda watched it. I was home too. When I used to intern there back in '97, they used to repeat programs on Comcast. Maybe they will be repeating it some time today.

Fidgetess
Here's a question that I couldn't figure out from the box score....what happens if your starting goalie gets into a fight and gets tossed, then the backup goalie gets into a fight and gets tossed? I'd like to think that this was some boiled-over frustration from Binghamton for losing to the Rats the night before Edited December 29, 2003 by Fidgetess

Not sure though.
exit_16w
Anyone put on the foil? Maybe an appearance by eddie shore and the hansons?
njdevils_info
I think you can dress any other player to play goal in that situation. Not sure though. That is correct, sammy. Although I have yet to hear of it happening, if your two goaltenders cannot play (injured, tossed, etc), there is typically one or two players on the team that have a little, if that, goaltending experience in their lifetime. They would suite up and have a whack at it. They'd just have to pray their defense is top notch!
