ghdi
#NHLDucks acquire D Francois Beauchemin from @MapleLeafs for RW Joffrey Lupul, D Jake Gardiner and a conditional 2013 draft pick.
jagknife
Why do I feel like Burke won this deal? Source: Dreger, Marek, LeBrun
Triumph
well here's a perplexing move. i guess burke is collecting right wings like the devils collect left wings.
CarpathianForest
Who wants to take the over/under that Lupul will play for the Duckies again?
halfsharkalligatorhalfman
Gardiner is apparently a decent prospect http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/jake_gardiner I know nothing of him other than that webpage. Lupul's contract is terrible. I don't think it's worth taking on even to get this guy/get rid of Beauch. http://www.capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=
Neutral Zone Trap
Who wants to take the over/under that Lupul will play for the Duckies again? Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised to see Penner go back there too. But holy smokes batman, talk about gross overpayment by the Ducks
Devil Fan
Initially, I thought Burke won that trade because Beauchemin was awful with the Leafs (who doesn't anyway?). But look at it salary-wise, I think the Ducks will benefit because they have enough offense (Getzy, Perry, Ryan, Koivu, Selanne and Visnovsky)
stevestevens
I liked this trade a lot for the Ducks at first until I found out the deal included Gardiner. Major overpayment, I guess the Ducks wanted to rid Lupul's contract so they had to put a solid prospect in.
NJDevs4978
Now the Ducks can find out first hand Beauchmin's been a marginal player at best without Scotty Nieds beside him.
