devilsrule33
I feel like Shanny accomplished something occasionally. Arnott is in a really, really long dry spell, and his defense plays remind me alot of Shanny, just flailing with the stick because he has no foot speed. I'm hoping someone buys him on rep, but if they've been scouting him more than just confirming his existance, it's possible Lou's phone might not even ring for Arnie tomorrow. It definitely will. This is a weird position for Lou, but if he does a lot of work he might be able to pull off some magic. GMs are big on reputations and the idea of what Jason Arnott once brought might sway them. Not like GMs listen much to their scouts come deadline day. But it still is a lot of money. I'm more interested in if Lou is thinking about dealing Greene. ZeroGravityFat
arnott is not really doing much ever since lemaire came on board, so might as well get something for him.
sokar
Why? It's not exactly a stacked year. thats why you want a lot of picks, i know there is not crosby type player in the draft this year but that does not mean they are all going to be bad players, there is nothing wrong with getting a bunch of second line players in the draft. Neb00rs
There is no point in stacking up on draft picks this year or any year...absolutely no point. An extra pick is nice, 2 is better and before you have 3 extra, you should have used the picks as trade bait to make your NHL team better/never traded that many veterans away at all. THAT plus... we can try to resign them in the summer... what if we get picks for them and then manage to resign them? i mean if they are traded they will live in hotel rooms or wtv until april, may then come back to NJ i dont think the team getting Arnott would try too hard to resign him... maybe greene could get a decent offer but he's the one choosing... he may not be willing to move all his family and all for a few extra bucks

SterioDesign
yeah i mean... what are we facing right now? scenario 1 - Arnott and Greene are traded for picks, players or prospects... we can either keep them or trade them then... but cant manage to sign those guys in the summer... oh well we have prospects coming up at least scenario 2 - Arnott and Greene are traded for picks, players or prospect... then re-sign those guys... yay we got a win-win situation here scenario 3 - we dont do anything and resign them in the summer... we're gonna save money on Arnott and probably give Greene a little raise... so were at the same point pretty much scenario 4 - we dont do anything and lose those guys in the summer... yay Edited February 28, 2011 by SterioDesign
'7'
Schremp will make Lemaire pull his remaining 12 strands out I think arnott goes, and the return will not be impressive. Conditional pick

Conditional pick yeah thats what i thought... Schremp doesnt seem to be a Lou or lemaire kind of player... i remember saying the same thing about Kovie but hey... apples and oranges here

Conditional pick the reason i said the devils might pick up Schremp is he would only be here for one year, and would you have to give up nothing to get a center to replace arnott. plus who knows how he will play under Lemaire

Calder Cups are fun and all, but that is not what we are here to win.

DaneykoIsGod
that would be cool. PK, I know you aren't a Twitterer, but per a previous conversation, days like today make the site totally worthwhile. Not just for the aforementioned Arnott tidbit, but for stuff like this too: DarrenDreger Higgins still in play with broken thumb. Weiss and Booth unlikely to love. Fla too banged up. Market value may increase for both at draft. DarrenDreger Small typo...hahaha. I meant Weiss and Booth unlikely to move. Although, I'm sure there's tons of love in Fla. CraigCustance No confirmation yet on @DarrenDreger report that Weiss and Booth unlikely to love. Both have shown capacity to love in the past.
