"One-by-one. That's what it's going to take," said Martin Brodeur, expected to be in net in Newark for the first time in more than a month, since beating Ottawa 2-1 Feb. 1.

"We know what the numbers are, and a lot of teams have to beat other teams. But we'll do the best we can. We just can't look ahead of this game, or we'll be in trouble."

Another 16-2-2 may get us in. Two big challenges:

1) Offense

2) Other teams look at us differently for sure

16-2-2 gets us in the playoffs for sure....that would be 92 points.

15-5 would be 88 points, enough to make the big dance last year.

One game at a time.

Chances of getting in = really fvcking low.

I am more hopeful that this record will help the players mentally for next year.

"I've been in the exact same [comeback] situation with Washington. I'm looking forward to it. It's pretty exciting, actually," Steckel said.

Jacques Lemaire said Steckel is "probably [disappointed] because he's coming from a top team to a team that is just starting to play better."

"Not when you're 9-1 in 10 and [17-2-2]," Steckel countered."

Yeah, gotta like reading that! :):clap2:
