  1. I don't know what to make of Frazee's sophomore slump. I thought he was a lot better in March and April last year. Could just be that the throat cut was worse than anybody let on (some possibilities include nerve damage causing numbness or pain that will take *years* to go away, scar tissue making it hard for him to turn his head, etc.). Could just be that other teams have had time to compile a book on him, and knowing the Devils' system, they know how to drive him. He could be nursing an injury that the Devils don't want to talk about, that would fit their ultra-paranoid style. Or it could be the Devils' control-freakishness -- I've heard the Devils like to fvck with the way a goalie plays, almost as if they want all their goalies to play like Marty, which is a big change for most of them. Ask a tuna to fly, who should get the blame if it doesn't pan out?

The funny thing, though, is that his numbers aren't bad. 2.66 GAA and .916 saves percentage are above average numbers. Sure, in two of his past four games he's given up 5 and 6 goals, respectively, but those are blips on the radar. Also, last year, he was playing almost every game so he was probably able to get in some sort of rhythm. Not the case this year. I'm not worried.

With that said, McKenna has been playing well all year long, but even he gave up 6 goals a couple of games ago.

  2. I 2nd this if anyone has an extra for sale. Thanks! (Looking for the 4 pack of bobble heads too Parise, Elias, Langs and Brodeur) Let me know thanks!

You can find the 4 pack on ebay. There are at least two sets on that site. Just search for "devils bobblehead."

  3. I'd really like to buy one (or more) of the Jeff Frazee bobbleheads that were given away at last night's Trenton game. If anyone (or someone you know) is willing to part with one, I'd be more than happy to pay good money. Thanks!

  4. Probably a trade in the works. IMO Coleman's the odd goalie out, the T-Devils went with Caruso this weekend and had EBUG Tony Felice backing him up.

Well, the good news is I don't have to pony up for Lowell playoff tickets, since Lowell is now guaranteed not to make the post-season. Probably just as well, since the team's likely to be moving to Springfield or Albany or Hartford, anyway.

It's been fun, mostly, but now it's over, just playing out the string.

You're right, Frazee's 2.38 GAA and .927 saves percentage just won't cut it. Get a grip buddy.

  5. Devils lose 4-3...blew a 3-1 second period lead. Game-winning goal scored with 1:23 left.

I wasn't able to listen, but it looks like special teams killed Lowell again. 0 power play goals, 1 shorthanded goal against, and 2 power play goals against. Springfield's 3rd and 4th goals both came on the PP in the 3rd.

  6. I'm watching the NJ game and I can say that from viewing it, it does not look good for Kevin. I'm hoping it just looked worse than what it really is, but he was in a helluva lot of pain. Looks like it may be his groin or some sort of muscle tear somewhere below the waist. Clemmensen will probably be in NJ soon.

TG says it's a knee injury.

Tough loss for Lowell tonight...really needed this one. Where's the scoring???

  7. The ads are fewer on WCAP, but they don't carry every game. Sounds like they will be carrying this Friday night's big game againts the Prats, though. So bookmark that link and happy listening. :)

What a horrible way to lose, putting Frazee on the spot and then putting Gionta in the fire. At least they got a point, it's better than an outright loss.

Oh, FEATHERS... the T-Devils lost in the shootout too. :( :( :(

Hey, murrster, buy Ryan a beer, if not for his goal they'd have gone home empty-handed.

Thanks for the broadcast info, Birch and Shtikl! It's so nice to be able to follow the team from afar. On a related note, I'd love to buy Murphy a beer, but I unfortunately live about 1500 miles away. (FYI, my username has nothing to do with Ryan Murphy - but I understand your logic.)

And just for the record, I hate shootouts - probably because they rarely turn out favorably! They also completely ruin the concept of winning and losing as a team.
