  1. To be honest, I didn't watch much hockey in 96, but I can say that this team has least amount of discipline then any other team I've ever seen before.

We are a defensive style team with no defense right now, and we take penalties at really bad times, and then put all the pressure on our goaltender, who just couldn't take it all tonight.

  2. he was able to put pressure on it, so I don't think it's going to be horrible. I'd give it 2 games at most. Marty's like Stevens - he doesn't like missing much action.

So if Clemmy starts Friday, maybe Saturday, and we'll see Marty back November 1st

  3. Actually, since the pictures aren't being hosted on NJDevs.com, it's not DM's bandwidth you have to worry about.

Oops, you're right. I didn't realize they were being saved on PhotoBucket

  4. Crasher, don't even joke about Brodeur. That's just wrong, and I think... wow, he really does look evil in that...

    Anyway....

They are very nice pictures PK, and don't worry about DM's bandwidth. He can handle it

    In fact, post more! ;)

  5. I know I was against the "Anti-Brodeur Act" preventing goalies to chase the pucks in to the corners, but to be honest, from what I have seen, it doesn't look like it's hurting Brodeur's play at all. Maybe in the past 10 games I've seen one time I saw a play where Brodeur would have gone in to the corner to get a puck, but really he just goes in front of the goal line before it gets to the corner to play it.

This has not affected Brodeur. What's affected him is the lack of defense the Devils now have.

I can't say I agree with this guy all that much

  6. eh, that post just gave me a stomach ache shred. Thanks ;)

He'll be picked up, but if he's an $850,000 4th liner in everyone's eyes, I don't expect it to be any time soon.

I understand the move and i know Lou has his chess board in front of him and thinks 17 moves ahead, but boy does he make me nervous some times!

Well, in Lou we trust, right?

  7. Yeah but you don't want to pink fluffy bunny boink him... you dont require a monthly fix to quell your desires...

I'm surprised you didn't pick up on Scott's references to relieving stress.. He said he definitely misses hitting something, and goes to the gym to rid himself of some...

I'm sure you'd offer up some nicer ways for that stress relief! :whistling:

Add yourself some chocolate syrup and you'll have yourself a very nice sunday...:boogie:

In any case, for those of you who may have missed the interview and don't like to read, you can download it here:

    http://njdevils.info/media/videobin/2005/ScottStevens.wmv

    (It is roughly 28 MBs)

Please for the love of god right click and download this thing; my bandwidth is already through the roof this month and I would appreciate it if people not play this thing 17 times over the network! :D

  8. And you call yourself a hockey fan?!?

You are supposed to love the cold, the snow, the ice, the winter!

I love snow! I can't wait for the first blizzard!

  9. As much as iPods are "in" I think it would be better to get an MP3 player that can be used with software other than iTunes...

What has been everyone's experience with iTunes? I personally don't care for it myself.

  10. Looks as if the hurricanes are hunting the Girls Gone Wild crew down.

First Katrina hits New Orleans, and now it looks as if Cancun is going to get a direct hit from a category 5 hurricane.

  11. Let's see what penalties I can dig up here that I haven't seen in a long time...

    'Clipping'

'Kneeing' (Game 70 , March 13 2000, Vladimir Malakhov minor in the 3rd)

'Leaving the Crease' (no longer exists... duh)

    'Spearing'

'Throwing Objects' (Game 51, Jan 29, 2000, Bench minor in the 2nd)

  12. One of the big problems is the league employs 700 players, it's carrying at least 4 teams worth of dead weight.

I don't know how long Saskin will last, hopefully not long, the players are realizing now how he and Linded screwed them over by crawling into bed with the weasel. What they need to do is rehire Goodenow and walkout, like next year at the earliest, I hope players continue to speak out.

stop comparing what you earn to what he earns. Rich or poor, nobody likes being screwed over and stabbed in the back.

The point I'm trying to make is how he talks of his money being spent to attract the fans. Guess what, it's not his money. It's the leagues money now with the whole "legue revenue" plan and it gets distributed appropriately to keep the league as a whole healthy.

I love how people always suggests we drop teams in order to make the situation better. But here's a dumb idea, how about we make the team as a whole better and attract more fans? And, if we implement a salary cap, the talent and "stars" of the league will be distributed to many more teams that originally couldn't afford them and make these teams more exciting to watch!

And how the hell is stopping play again and "walking out" going to solve anything? Did you not notice how stubborn the owners were to get the cap? We lost a whole season and I think everyone knows if they pull anything like that again in the near future you are going to have a lot more problems besides pulling in fans.

Lets not ruin this sport anymore. Lets play hockey and enjoy it, shall we?

  13. "When they saw that 12% out of the paycheck, the guys on our team were [griping] and moaning and complaining about it," Roenick said. "This is after we already had given back 24% and taken a [$39-million] salary cap."

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It's still 10 times more than I'll ever see in a year. And I'm doing just fine. Do you ever think about what the rest of the world makes compared to you? Your still pulling in a hefty sallery. And if you play better and more people come to see your games, hey, revenues go up and you'll wind up making more in the end.

    Deal with it.

  14. Yah, what happened to Bob Arsena? I miss his voice.

And at what time is the appropriate time to panic?

I am starting to get concerned... We need defense and we need it now. I mean I am used to the Devils getting one or two goals a game. I am not used to giving up 6! I don't think Elias will make much of a difference if we can't stop what's going past our own red line.

Oh, and yes please bring back Score-o.

Now I did not watch this mess because I was at a party... but does anyone recommend I watch this game?
