  1. Congrats Devils. It's over in Atlanta. Thrashers beat the Penguins 1-0.

Let's secure that second spot tomorrow now!!

Yeah baby!!This never gets old.I'm so proud of this team.We seem to find a way every year to get it done.I'm confident we can go far this postseason.Congrats again Devs!!

  2. Being a witness to greatness never gets boring.

    Thanks Marty.

Yes,I fully agree. We will all miss him when he retires.Congrats Marty!!We all love you. You're the best.

  3. Very satisfying blowout win to see at the Prudential Center and over the Rangers too. This one will feel good for a while. Always great to see Queen Henrik get pulled then the "Henrik" chants reigning down onto the ice from the ruckus crowd. Someone should have thrown a tissue over the glass to Lundqvist so he could wipe his tears. LOL! Great win and another dagger in the Rangers chances of making the playoffs.

Another dominant win over the rags.I couldn't be happier.Hope we carry the momentum to a win over the pens on friday.

  4. We are currently 3 points behind pittsburgh with only 1 game in hand. I think it's safe to say these next two games vs the penguins (friday and wendesday) will be the games that decide who takes first in the division. I would like to, unfortunately, remind everyone of the 07-08 season. We had back-to-back games with the penguins late in the season, we lost both games. We ended up losing out on first place by 3 points. Had we won those two games, we would have had yet another first place divisional finish. Hopefully we don't make this repeat. Let's finish with 6-0 vs pens, two more shut outs please.

We own the Pens.I can't wait to see the Devs shut down Cindy Criesby yet again.Yeah baby,GO DEVS.

  5. Hey,don't get me wrong.I love this great game. But this is turning into the nineties in mlb with the yanks and braves in the series every october.I'd like to see some different teams compete for the cup other than the wings and pens every year. But that's just me.Go ahead all, attack.I'm ready.

  6. I want him back. He's done a terrific job so far despite minimal talent. And besides,I've always admired any member of the greatest U.S. based dynasty in the history of the nhl.19 straight post season wins?cmon man, that's sick. It'll never be broken. Please return Brent. We need you.

  7. I hate 2 say it,but eye bleeve you're an idiot who can not spell or talk. Rebuild? Yes let's rebuild when our franchise Goalie, best Goalie in NHL history has about 5 seasons left to play. Let's rebuild when we have made the playoffs for 12 consecutive seasons.

First of all, ease up man.I was a bit drunk when I wrote that last night. And as far as rebuilding goes,I'm tired of this one and out the last couple three years. You can't lose the likes of rafalski, neids, gomez, stevens, ect. not replace them. and expect the same results. Not to mention Marty althought he easily is the best ever,is slipping just a bit.Yeah,I believe it would behoove the entire organization if they started to rebuild, especially if we lose tomorrow night.

  8. Yeah,I know someone who goes to games alone.Me.In fact I was there last night all alone again and I couldn't have cared less. They played a great game and I was surrounded by a sea of devils fans. But that's just me,as I'm very much a loaner by trade.BTW,I drive from Ct all the time. Now that's a die hard fan.Go Devs.

  9. When my Whalers left me in favor of North Carolina. In my opinion, whenever your team leaves your city and/or state, you have every right to change allegience. Not to mention the fact that I've always hated the Rags.

(Sorry if this is OT or plain lame...if it is so be it.)

Reading through another thread on here ("things learned at prudential center") I felt the need to ask the question...

I'm 23 years old. I grew up in Bronx, NY where I stayed until around 1996-1997, when I moved up further to the Poughkeepsie area. My beginning as a Devils fan was the 1994 ECF. For some reason unknown to me or anyone for that matter, at the ripe age of 9 or 10 years old I wanted to see the Devils beat the Rangers so badly in that series.

I had just started playing roller hockey and had a general love for the sport despite being so young. My entire family has been NY residents tracing back ultimately to great-great relatives who originated in Italy, so all of our roots lie in New York. That 1994 ECF series was the first that I actually followed and cared about. Despite the area, the die-hard rangers fans in my immediate family (god I couldn't stand my aunts and their Graves' and Kovalev jerseys) and the general NY Rangers mentality of my neighborhood, I wanted them to lose that series. But furthermore, not only did I want the Rangers to lose, I wanted the Devils to win even more. My father, an Islanders fan, did not know why, nor did any of my friends or family. I wanted them to beat that Rangers team in the worst way. It was tough watching them fall that year, but it only made it sweeter the next, being able to say I was a Devils fan, and not a 'front-runner' as they called it.

I attended my first game in 1997, when the Carolina Hurricanes were in town. We had box seats at the CAA, and life was great that night even though we lost. More meaningful was the time my father took me to my second game, and my first playoff game - The series clincher against Montreal that year. It pretty much sealed me up with this franchise. The crowd, the horn, the R&R part II. Everything.

4 Stanley Cup appearances, 3 Stanley Cup Championships, 2 retired jersey's, a new beautiful arena, and multiple fantastic memories later and I still haven't the slightest clue as to why I became a Devils fan that year. Exposure to the team? Maybe. Loving the 'under-dog' feeling? Possibly. Do I think it was simply meant to be? Definitely.

All I know is that even though I'm a New York native and resident, no team or organization has meant as much to me as the New Jersey Devils have. Every year since 1994, my loyalty has been with this team, and it can never be challenged. I am a Die-Hard, through and through.

What made you go against-the-grain so to speak, and fall for a team outside of your home market? For me, much like a lot of other younger fans, my roots lie in the common dislike of the New York Rangers franchise. It's ironic in a way.

P.S. - To the entire NJD organization, thank you for making my last game I attended (12/12 against the Rangers) my most memorable by far. It meant a lot to see the fans come together when the Rags were in town again. Reminded me as to why I was a fan again.

  10. Hey Guys!!! I am excited for opening night. I got seats in 226 row 7. Where are you guys sitting? you can list sections!!!!

I'll be in section 3 row 17.My first visit to the Rock.Go Devs.
