SBT, I'm surprised at your take on this. Why is this the umps' fault? Sammy was caught cheating. He knows the rules and he knows the consequences for breaking them.
And why is cheating okay?
The umps should have allowed the RBI because it came on a groundout.
Sammy could have gotten the RBI groundout with a regular bat.
So the cork itself didn't play a role in the at bat.
