i thought it might go to albelin if the organization thought both josefson and tedenby would end up there.
i just think josefson's going to be on the devils this season.

ideally it's rolston and white, more likely it's going to be zubrus and salvador.

i'd rather see pelley on the wing than at center. he was more effective on the wing.

we don't need another forward on this team until we get a puck moving defenseman. who that is depends on who's available. i don't really like any of the remaining UFA's.
i'd like kaberle but only if i knew we could sign him to a contract extension. i'm not really sure what other PMD are available that a team would be willing to part with in a trade.

i would rather the devils made a strong push for kaberle rather than try to sign kovalchuk.

realistically, the devils will be lucky to get one of the top FA defenseman available.
i do believe lou's going to make a big trade to upgrade our d though.

Two ECHL championships (which happened to be NJ based teams to add to the hype). I'll bet a top ranked College team could compete for an ECHL Championship.
Once he got to the AHL, he won in the regular season, but not much happened in the playoffs for him despite 40-50 win seasons and some talent on those rosters.
Bobby Carpenter won the Cup as an assistant with the Devils, so i see his "ring" got him the hype for a job.....
carpenter didn't have the coaching resume haviland has.
i like how your knocking the echl means his championship wasn't earned. and he "only" had 40-50 win seasons in the ahl. what would he have had do there, win the calder every year until an nhl team gives him a chance?

more of the same old, same old for NJ.
i don't have anything against JMac, and I'm hoping I'm wrong, but I was hoping for something a little flashier and new since i believe NJ will be relatively quiet this offseason, except for losing kovy. i think it's going to be the same old story next season. i didn't like the lemaire signing initially and early on in the season it looked like lemaire was the right choice, but all we saw was a very familiar end to another season. and i'm not just talking about winning a cup. it would have been nice to at least have gotten out of the first round.
and haviland wasn't just some nobody who's bandwagon people jumped on(at least not for me). if you've been following hockey in nj at all, you should know his name. and i still would have liked for him to have been given a chance.

i get the feeling that maybe lou was comfortable trading cormier because he knew he had this kid coming up.

i love clarkson, but really, he can't seem to skate, stay on his feet, or control the puck at all. i would hate to lose him, but i would definitely let someone else overpay him.

was anyone else surprised to see corente tonight.
i have to admit i was kind of excited to see him out there, even though he was on the wing. i thought the 4th line guys did alright last night. i'm hoping this is the lineup they use for game 3.
and was there a reason given why corrente got the start?

if we take the lines from last night's game as our playoff lines, i think the only change will be zharky over pl3. a 4th of line zharky/mcammond/pelley wouldn't be so bad. and i would play zharkov over pando, at least to start with.

just got back from the game. and what a great game it was. i love the red/green and they looked great in person.
and a good crowd too. i was at the last two games vs the pens at the rock and both were sellouts. that's always good to see.

great game last night. it really is such a different game when you are there as a opposed to watching it at home. the devils played inspired hockey last night. i hope this is something we see all the time as the season winds down. win or lose, you just want to see this team playing with enthusiasm.
took my second trip to the rock and it was great. my first time in the fire lounge too. one can get very spoiled with that.
thankfully, i'll also be at next wednesday's game with incredibly great tickets and access to the ice lounge. hopefully the outcome is the same.
