  1. This is the team that I think we will start the season with.

    Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner

    Rolston-Zubrus-Clarkson

    Shanny-Nieds-Halischuk

    Pandolfo-Pelley-Bergfors

I chose Halischuk over Bergfors because the game I went to against the Flyers I thought Halischuk stood out and every game I've seen Bergfors play in he hasn't done anything to wow me except that nice pass to Langs. I don't think one of the two will be sent down right away which is why I have Bergfors on the 4th line because I think he'll still get a chance to show he belongs but once Elias is back, to quote Highlander, "There can only be one! Rookie RW prospect on this team!" *lightning*

  2. i like him because he had a HUGE hit last night against the flyers. im not sure who he hit but whoever it was was very slow to get up and hobbled to the bench slowly. other then that he seemed to be kinda average i guess but centers are few and far between these days it seems

That hit was great it happened right in front of me, You could see the guys facial reaction after his cheek bones smashed into the top of the boards where it turns and the glass starts...awesome.

  3. A line of Rolston-Zubrus-Clarkson could be a pretty effective line. They'd be very hard to knock off the puck because of their size, their fast, and they can cycle the puck and get good chances.

I like that line too, unfortunately that doesn't help us once Elias is back. Do we swap out Zubby with Patty?

  4. so how are the lines going to look when elias comes back, is elias going to be a center or winger, and i he is a center does that mean pelley is going to be sent down

I think it will go a little something like this:

    Parise-Zajac-Langenbrunner

    Rolston-Elias-Bergfors

    Zubrus-Nieds-Clarkson

    Pandolfo-Pelley-Shanny

    Extra:Peters/Halischuk.

Also, I wonder what number he Rob will get, maybe he gets the Richer treatment?

  5. From watching the preseaosn game on wednesday, Cormier played much better then Pelley, that's not to say Cormier is a lock for the team or NHL ready, he's kind of slow. I do think that while Elias is out Cormier will get a shot at the NHL and will play a line above Pelley. I don't think Cormier will play once Elias is back.

  6. Like I said, I hate the Sal Fraser pairing. If Fraser makes those mistakes with a faster partner, than I agree he isn't ready.

I've always had a soft spot for Fraser, so I'm biased.

I've also always liked Fraser and from watching the game last night I noticed that he can play in the NHL but is definitely not ready to be an NHL regular. He needs to be eased into a D job and if that means only playing in 15 or so games next year then so be it. He definitely has upside but he was chasing the puck way too much last night, that can be fixed though.

That being said maybe Jaques does think he's ready and like what was said the fact that he was paired with Sal hurt him. Maybe Lemaire plans on using three stay at home Defensemen and three puck moving D with Fraser being one of the stay at home defensemen.
