  1. I didn't realize the replays would be on there, I'll be sure to DVR it. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm not sure if it's a replay or not but I heard that the NHL Network-US was supposed to air the Memorial Cup games starting tomorrow. I guess the one that took place tonight only aired in Canada. But if they show a replay of tonight's game I'll be happy to watch. :)

  2. Okay. Everyone. I wouldn't worry. Right now the Devils have NO HEAD COACH. You can't have a winning team no matter who you sign without one. Hiring a head coach comes first and right now there has been hardly any word of a head coach possibly being hired, except for Hitch. And he's only been reported as being interested in the job.

I believe once the Devils hire a head coach they WILL start negotiating with Parise and his agents. I mean, there's even rumors that talks, however preliminary, have actually started (nothing being open discussed, just getting in contact). Just rumors obviously, but murmers nonetheless.

If nothing is done after the playoffs end, then I would start to worry. But for now, I'm not surprised nothing has been done.

  3. My observations re: Henrique:

His play without the puck seems to be pretty darn good.

Seems to have a nice wrist shot. The goal at 1:45 was pretty nice.

I like where he plays when parked in the slot. He's usually about 4-6 from the top of the blue paint.

His skating looks labored, although he seems get to where he needs to be in time.

Would everybody agree that he's about 50/50 to be on the opening night roster?

With a strong training camp, I'd say the chances he makes the opening night roster are better than 50/50. Same with Urbom, unless the Devils choose to send him down for more development for another season.

  4. I think Henrique will be awesome for us in time. He may need to work on his skating but that's something that can always improve. Twenty five goals in his first AHL season is definitely nothing to sneese at. And he was solid in his first NHL game as well. I'm hoping we'll get to see him in the NHL more often next season.

  5. Without a doubt I'd love to be a season ticket holder if I had the money for them. I'm not mad at the Devils for pushing season tickets regardless of how they push them. I don't feel they are trying to shame, guilt, or bully me into purchasing anything so I'm not sure where that is coming from, especially since I said the supporters section wasn't really for me with my family coming along anyway. But the point is the section last year was growing and being billed as a section where really truly screaming, jumping, standing, cheering fans could get some cheaper tickets all in one section...now its that but only if you can shell out a thousand buckaroos...in my opinion, its a lame thing to do...but its still their right to do it.

While it sucks, I think it had to be done, in my opinion; when the Supporters Section first started up, people who weren't Devils fans got their hands on the cheap tickets and kind of slowed down what the Supporters Section was trying to achieve. Like I said, you can pretty much blame the Ranger, Flyer and other teams fans for that. Requiring fans to become season ticket holders in that section eliminates those non-Devils fans in that section for the fact that they don't want to have to purchase season tickets for a team they don't even like. Hell, when free tickets were being given out to the Supporters and the Vikings Army, rival fans who got wind of it managed to get their hands on tickets and went to the game hoping only to see the Devils lose.

Also, the ones purchasing STs in that section know what the section is about and they'll want to bring the noise to as many games as possible.

Again I know it sucks. But who knows, maybe they won't manage to sell out the whole section by the time next season starts and they'll HAVE to sell some seats individually.

  6. It sucks that the Devils ticket people aren't selling indivdual tickets for the Supporters Section, but I can actually see their point; last season when the Devils Supporters met at games, some, say "non Devils fans" simply took advantage of the cheap (or at times free) tickets, which really hurt what the Supporters Section was trying to achieve. So really, the ones who showed up to games in Rangers and Flyers jerseys and talked sh!t all game are the ones who we can thank for that.

Hell, I and a few other friends noticed it a lot. Obviously there were mostly Devils fans, but there were also Rangers, Flyers and quiet as mice Devils fans in the 122 seats as well. I actually had the misfortune of sitting next to an entire FAMILY of "anything but Devils fans" (as the one douchebag among them put it) who were talking sh!t the whole game. Considering we get so many Ranger and Flyer fans at our games as it is, I don't blame the Devils ticket sales people for making the seats available only to people who purchased season tickets. It prevents the "anything but Devils fans" of the world from taking advantage of the cheap seats since they probably don't want to be considered Devils season ticket holders. And since the quiet Devils fans probably don't want to spend money on season tickets for a section that's going to be loud all game, they probably won't make the investment either.

  7. I agree.

You know, some believe the Devils suck at drafting when they really DON'T.

Now that said...not sure if this should go into the mock draft post... but what does everyone think of Landeskog? He says he tries to be like Iglinla and Richards, but to be honest he truly reminds me of Clarkson. What do you guys think about him?

    (personality-wise I mean.)

  8. Nice! Good to see.

    I agree.

  9. What is a safe coaching choice ? XD

Can anyone tell me about Hitchcock and how he works with young players? (Tedenby,Napalm,Josefson,Tao,Urbom etc)

Anyone think Peter DeBoer is a good choice ?

He was the Panther's coach right? If so, he actually accomplished a lot with the roster he had, and got them to play well against top teams in the league. Goodness knows the Panthers had our number this past season. I wouldn't mind him at all. Also, I would feel more comfortable with him coaching our younger guys.

  10. I wouldnt mind seeing ZP signed long term but for some odd reason I dont see that happening. If he is going to walk, we need to send him packing and get someone equal in return. Maybe a big name D man? We have the offense (Patty, Kovalchuk, Zajac, the youngins) We need to toughen up our D.

Also address the future goaltending issue.

Getting Parise resigned is the priority above all else. BUT in the event that it not happen, the organization must get what they can for him before he becomes a UFA. IF that happens, I would also want a big name defenseman as well. Someone really good. That's IF the Lou decides not ro resign Parise. We need Parise on this team.

  11. I think Colin Campbell again blew it. Why did Wizneiwski get two games for giving Avery the finger, but Ferrence gets a whopping $2500 broadcast all over the place,(laughable) fine, and thats it?? He shouldn't get a game or two because it's the playoffs? Who gives a sh<t if he's remorseful? that was phoney too

Because Wisniewski was actually mimicking a blowjob, a possible pornographic image, not flipping someone off, which is a mere insult. I guess that's the difference.

  12. And he actually said he didn't mean to do it? He stuck out his fist, flipped the bird and raised his fist higher so the Hab fans to see it. I have absolutely no issue with something like that, think it's funny... but at least own up to it when asked. Don't claim you didn't mean to do it when you clearly did.

(LMAO on the history will be made video)

  13. If other teams have this, I see no reason why the Devils shouldn't. I understand the Devils are a smaller market compared to the teams who do have a team phone app, but I believe having something like that could potientally bring in new fans and help strengthen the current fan base. Especially if the app has a function for fans actually at games that tells them to stand and participate in chants; it could be awesome for making chants and stuff more organized and get more people involved. And while I'm new to the whole smartphone/iphone/somekindofphone thing and have no idea what an app should cost, I wouldn't mind spending 1.99 or 2.99 for a Devils app. Also, having fans pay for the app should be incentive for the Devils organization to go forth with it, seeing as it can bring in a little extra revenue.

(Like I said though, I have no idea what apps usually cost. How much do apps usually cost, if you need to pay to get one?)

  14. If so, its impossible to even put into words how awesome that is for us.

If it's true and the cap becomes increased by 6 million, it may not solve our cap problems but it definitely makes them easier to deal with, especially when signing/resigning certain players. ;)

  15. Ahh okay, thank you! :)

Wow... reading the comments on there has me excited to see what Kinkaid can do. Someone on HF boards even said Kinkaid is better than Mckenna.

  16. If Larsson is taken, I'd be happy with either one, to be honest. But if we're drafting for who may eventually become a number 1 center, I'd go with Couturier.

Do NOT get me wrong. I love what I've seen in Huberdeau. But if Larsson is taken, and Huberdeau would be made to play wing, go for the player who will stay at the center position. Besides, as far as skating goes, I'm sure the Devils can and probably will hire a skating coach of some kind to improve Couturier's skating if we do draft him.
