Hi from the UK

Coming to NYC for friends birthday and coming to the Islanders game (April 10th) on the Guys Night Out package.

Wanting some tips and advice please and hoping this is the right place for it

We have got tickets in Block 16 around row 20(ish) Will these be good seats & good atmosphere???

What time should we get to the Pru? Is there any pre-game entertainment we shouldn't miss?

Coming with some hockey virgins and those who haven't yet chosen a team so kinda hoping this may be a moment where they fall in love with the game

Coming in to Jersey from Manhattan - any tips or suggestions for travelling to the game etc

Any advice gratefully received

Many thanks

Matt

Most would agree the atmosphere in the upper levels is better. The chants and cheers originate from the cheap seats in the corners. Down below, you'll have a great view, but don't expect anything more than that. Oh, and down below you have a better chance of scoring a t-shirt from the mascot.

Pregame--check out the Devils Championship plaza next door. There's a large metal hockey statue, personalized bricks and possibly some entertainment. Expect to spend about 10 minutes here, it's not too exciting.

Edit: Get to the arena a little early. Let your friends watch the warmup. Walk around the concourse. The actual arena is beautiful inside. There's occasionally things happening in the concourse. There's a small exhibit on the concourse containing a huge signed puck, old jerseys, etc...

Travel--coming from Manhattan gives you two choices:

http://www.njtransit.com/ - More expensive. Use this if you're staying in midtown. It runs from NY Penn (below MSG) to Newark Penn.

http://www.panynj.gov/path/ - Cheaper, runs more frequently. Use this if you're staying downtown/financial district. It runs from the World Trade Center to Newark Penn.
