  1. I honestly don't care if the Devils signed them knowing they may be charged.
I absolutely do care if the Devils had any part in suppressing the investigation - which no one is accusing them of.

All players are innocent until proven guilty - and therefore free to sign and play in the NHL.
The entire NHL knew Cal Foote was suspected of this, which is why there was speculation at the time why he got the contract he did...  as no team wanted to commit anything substantial or long term.
If they are proven guilty they will serve their punishment.

After their punishment (legal and league suspensions), I'd be okay if any NHL team (including the Devils) signed them if they are eligible to play and still a good fit for the team.
If they aren't, I won't feel bad at all for them.

For anyone here (me included, as I posted a similar sentiment) discussing "How could like these people act like everything's fine?" and "I would feel so guilt-ridden and shameful", I know that NO ONE here would ever put someone in such a horrible position in the first place.

I think there's a lapse of judgement, especially when you're young and in that situation.   It doesn't excuse it, there are consequences to be had that will be life altering.

But I think these guys, if proven guilty, likely disassociate from it and spin it differently in their heads.   They aren't "horrible" people in their own perspective, but each of have done sh!tty things in our past, but most do not cross the line of criminality because of it.

Is there a possibility ownership isn't allowing Fitz to fire Ruff? Like how Jeff and Co kept Lou from making any money costing decisions even if it meant bettering the team?

I think there's a strong possibility that Fitz isn't able to fire Lindy without it severely limited his freedom... because he just signed Lindy in October to a multi-year extension.   Meanwhile, half a season later you want to boot him out the door?  It's a lot easier to say that injuries are the reason why this team isn't moving forward...

You can say Lindy isn't the coach for an injured team... and that you hired him to lead the roster you put together which is Jack Hughes and Dougie at the point.

Here it’s actually more Northern/Central/Southern, but some feel that there isn’t truly a Central Jersey.  But I’ve always felt that there are three regions, and having lived in all of them, they do have different “feels”.  Of course, within North Jersey, the eastern and western areas couldn’t feel more different.  As much as outsiders trying to pigeonhole all of NJ into one type, this state is about as diverse as it gets.

And that’s not even counting the shore.

Not sure I agree with it being an “illness” it’s self induced, calling him out is more than warranted for his actions. He wasn’t just drunk driving, threatening the officers and their loved ones is just a down right sh!tty character. Tons of drunks out there get arrested for the same thing majority of them don’t end up acting like that.

I understand your point - it isn't a random cancer, but it's the brains inability to stop the behavior.

  6. It's a difficult market to really judge.
There are definitely collectors out there, but it's not a huge market compared to sports cards.
I sold his base Upper Deck Yong Gun rookie for $1500 two years ago, and the market was clearly defined because they exchange hands often.

I would use eBay sold listings to really get a gauge of the value and using comparable player (maybe more Mario than Gretzky).
I'm not sure how much an autograph would bump up the value, but if it were to be autographed, I would reslab it and have it authenticated by PSA.
The best time to sell would honestly be both of those times - retirement / HOF - and not "today".   Anytime he's front and center, interest would pick up.
