100% agree, but the nobody is safe means - nobody of any real value and lots of marginal players we're willing to deal to upgrade.  Our junk for you're better pieces! When the reality in these instances your almost always looking at junk for crap. We'll see how it plays out.

Mercer is junk? Holtz? Casey? I disagree. Those are the assets that would be moving in meaningful deals.

I'm sure the Canadiens are taking this exact same stance if this guy didn't just up 14 G and 33 A in 70 GP as a 20-year-old (just turned 21 yesterday) in his first AHL season.

These teams should just admit it...when a guy who did some really sh!tty things can potentially help your team win and has talent, you'll bend over backwards to try to find some positive spin with regards to how much "better" of a person he really is now.  That's all this is.  The Canadiens think he can potentially make them a better team on the ice.  If that wasn't the case, there's no "Well he knows he made a big mistake but..." from the Canadiens.

I’m fvcking tired of this sh!t in sports. If you’re a scumbag you’re a scumbag. Go sell cars.

Now we've finally got to the end of this season we can, hopefully, say goodbye to the following UFAs: Nosek, Tierney, Smith, MacDermid, DeSimone and Kahkonen. I will miss none of them.

MacDermid will be back. Fitz said as much. And that’s fine. His mere presence keeps other teams in line.

Once again, the NHL does the wrong thing.  That something like this happens mere months after further details regarding the Hockey Canada situation came to light makes it even worse.  Gary Bettman, resign.

I’m sick of this tone deaf sh!t from the NHL. No one seems to get it.

What a sh!t take from Frank there. Should be a privilege to play professional sports for a living. Let this guy go do something else for a living instead...

That’s a fvcking joke take from Seravalli

In the NHL it kinda does.  Upsets aren't that uncommon...hell, Boston was taken down by the Panthers...yeah, that team turned out to be plenty damned good, but Boston put up a beastly record in 2022-23.

True, but all of those teams fighting for that last spot are weak as fvck. I just can’t see any of them beating the Rags.

I doubt that will happen. He's got time and he's going to use it. I don't expect an announcement until the draft or just after the draft at the earliest.

I don’t need an announcement of a new coach yet; but I DO need him to confirm Green is out though. He doesn’t have to wait to do that.

Yeah I think if he had just TRIED to do something (starting with a coaching change, from OUTSIDE the organization, while the season was still alive), he'd be taking a lot less heat from the fans.

Yep. I just don’t get WHY he sat on his hands as long as he did.

Yeah hopefully Fitz doesn’t continue this “Well maaaaaaaaaybe Green” charade for long.  There’s no reason at all for it.

I will take a PTO day, drive down to Newark, and fight that motherfvcker if he retains Green.

According to Matt and Chico, Fitz met with a gathering of season ticket holders and admitted that even early in the season, he knew there was a chance the Devils would struggle for most of the year, as there were too many defensive breakdowns, and practices weren’t as intense as he’d have preferred.  What I can’t understand is why, if he saw things he didn’t like, he waited so long to make any changes.  I hope he’s learned something.

Let me tell you that had I been among that group, I’d be asking so many questions I’d probably have been kicked out.

Askarov has played a total of 3 NHL games. If they have the cap space (I have no idea if they do), they should be trying to re-sign Saros, with Askarov as the eventual successor.

I highly doubt the kid is ready to take over next season at 21.

If Saros is willing to sign a four year deal, okay. But is he? He may want the max term, or close to it. Is Askarov expected to sit around until he’s 28 waiting for a shot?
