    0-4 without Auvitu

I really don't understand why Hynes keeps scratching him. His finger was apparently healed during the west coast skid, but Hynes chose not to play him. I'd argue he's been the second best defenseman after Severson. He's definitely better than Moore, Merill, Quincey, and Lovejoy, imo. Maybe even Greene.

Kid is playing great right now, hope he doesn't let that attempt get to his head. He's been arguably our best forward so far tonight.

    Him or Zacha.

You have to at least make the goalie make a save there though .

He was out with an injury I believe.

but there has been some questionable decisions that has come from him and his staff which leads me to have doubts about him taking this team to the next level.

Apparently his finger was healed and he was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career. Cangialosi mentioned it before his first game back.

Morons in our fanbase got their wish with JJ being scratched and this is what happens.

Hynes seems nice and all, but hard to think of him as a coach that will get this team to win big down the line when he makes decisions like putting zajac in the shootout over other available options.

Scratching Auvitu was not a great choice during the west coast skid either.

The defense has been brutal and Cory Schneider has been an average, at best, goalie. We're paying him to be a superstar, and that he needs to be.

I love him to death, but I wonder why he's seemingly exempt from criticism on these forums

I'm a little irritated with him right now tbh. It's why I changed my avatar. He needs to be better.

    Alright, I'll bite.

The NY Rangers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers.  Those are teams that were named either because of either the owner, what the arena they played in resembled or out of thin air and the owner liking the name.  None of those teams are named because of some connection to the city.

There are no teams in the top 4 major leagues in North America that I am aware of.  However, there are Jets in the NHL and NFL, Panthers in NHL and NFL, Kings in the NHL and NBA, Giants in MLB and NFL, Cardinals in MLB and NFL,  and Rangers in MLB and NHL.  Again there is only a finite amount of names the teams can choose unless it is completely out of left field.  Even then there are enough Major League, Minor League, College and High School teams in the United States where even team names out of left field are already done.  Hell there is the Albuquerque Isotopes minor league baseball team that was named after the Simpsons.

This is another case of selective outrage and no matter what name they chose some people were going to be upset for whatever reason.  This is outrage for the sake of being outraged.  I remember the Blue Jackets getting the same type of crap when their name was revealed for the same silly reasons.

I'm from Ohio, and I have no problem with that name. It has historical significance, as Ohio fielded more of its population during the Civil War than any other northern state. They also made the majority of Union uniform coats (hence Blue Jackets) in Columbus. Maybe it's just cause I'm into history, but I think it was a cool choice. The canon they fire off when they score a goal is pretty cool too (although I hate hearing it when they play the Devils) and their 3rd jersey with the canon on it is one of the best in the league, imo.
