FIRE RUFF
An then what???

The most creative loss this year. Took them only 2 min to fell apart mentally and spiritually.

Doing everything possible to lose this game. Didn't work out in regulation. Let's try in SO. Unbelievable.

New Amsterdam vodka is what we all need right now.

I mean, I’d rather they come back and lose by one goal than totally quit and get blown out.
We shall see. Goaltending is killing them tonight. Not that offense and defense are much better, but 2-3 goals could have been stooped. What's been so consistent this season is most mistakes consistently end up in the back of the net but they keep making them like bad students.

Now we are ready to start the usual comeback and lose by 1 goal. Same sh!t every night.

When you said that, part of me wanted to post "No way in fvck it's gonna be one of those games tonight". I can't believe it actually was.
Neither can I...still lol. They can't maintain consistency for 60 min but they don't quit and such comebacks, even without points, are beneficial for their mentality. I mean, who expected them to make it close being down 6:0? They'll learn how to win...eventually.

Lol I was close with 6:5 prediction.

Zajac, Palms and Greene are enjoying tonight's game. Rags are down 6:1.

Ok now do it 4 more times.
They will...3 times.

I guess we are losing this one 6:5...

The Pens will have the same issue after three games against this borderline AHL squad lol
Even this borderline AHL squad shouldn't be down 3, 4, 5:0 by the middle of the game.

You’re welcome. Since you claimed to have seen many teams rebuild and “we are by far the worst”, it seems like it was needed. I’m not even sure why you think the rebuild is going that poorly, because we’re not in the top half of the standings yet? Would you prefer we were more like the Rangers where the vets are doing all of the scoring and yet they’re still out of a playoff spot?
Unfortunately Nico has been out all season but I’ve seen major progress from Hughes, Zacha, Smith, Wood and Blackwood, Bratt has been trending in the right direction lately and Bastian, Sharangovich, Maltsev and Kaokkannen all look like solid young pieces. Hell, even McLeod, who was probably a bad pick from day 1 is contributing more than I ever thought he would. All while literally having no meaningful practices since the holidays, which for a young team can’t be stated enough.Given where Lou left this team 6 years ago in terms of young assets, where do you think we should be at this point? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we’re Chicago or Tampa yet either. To me, next year is the one where we need to see a jump and that includes management starting to fill in the roster with more veterans that aren’t total sh!t like Palmeiri, Vatanen and Johansson (Crawford?) have all been this season.
Hey man, sorry for not responding sooner. Never been a big stats fan. My post you rebutted was mostly emotional. I agree this team looks promising but seeing same crappy mistakes over and over can piss anybody. I do watch other teams when I get a chance. I guess seeing McDavid and other young super stars kinda blindfolds and you lose track of a team's progress. I didn't even expect the Devils to make the playoffs this year so I'm not disappointed. I'd like more consistency but then again this damn covid break has definitely affected them and Nico got injured...and most of all I hate the teams that have our number lol. We seem to find the recipe against Boston. Hope they'll return the favor to Caps and Isles. LGD.

Now let’s tackle Toronto. Are we just going to gloss over the fact that they missed the playoffs for over a decade after the full year shutdown and that there was whole rebuild under Brian Burke that had to be burned to the ground after it failed? You can sit here and tell me how great their perimeter finesse scorers look this season in what’s probably about year 17 since they first started to rebuild and I will remind you that they couldn’t even win a fvcking play-in series against a Columbus Blue Jackets team last year that lost a ton after going all in, in 2019
I appreciate your history lesson. You posted all that to prove that we are not the worst rebuilding team? OK we are not.

Buffalo says hi.
Anyway, I have nothing positive to say after that one. I’m even frustrated with my boy right now.
And despite not having a funny nickname for Recchi, I hold him every bit as accountable for this teams woes as nASS. The PP is truly awful. It’s painful to watch.
This one sucked I agree. I'm frustrated to see the same costly mistakes and lack of veteran leadership. Yes, we don't have anyone of McDavid or Mathews caliber, but most young guys playing better than most vets is wrong.

Really? Buffalo says hi. Edmonton too. Probably the Coyotes as well. Hell, Toronto still hasn’t won as much as a play in round.
You really want to compare Edmonton and Toronto back in the day with this team? They had a ton of talent but horrible coaching. Their game was way better than ours. Buffalo and Yotes I'll take. Doesn't mean we suck less because they do too.

Thank God it's over. I've seen many teams at their rebuild times. We are by far the worst of them.

Devils made 3 perfect shots...in the foot.

Here goes the effort down the sewer.
-
Wonder if they have any gas in the tank left for the last period. They must be tired and frustrated.

10 minutes of hustle and only 3 SOG. Speaks volumes.

What's wrong with their stick handling?

On the wrong side of the puck all over the ice.

The team is fragile with zero leadership and without a true veteran who can inspire by example. Even when things go their way their legs are shaking. Youth can't excuse two f..k ups that led to putting this game in OT. You can blame Ruff. I understand. But a player with the puck who can't toss it out of the zone with the closest attacker 6 feet away from him and 1 min left in the winnable game is the reason.
