Torti back in, Cormier and Bartlett healthy scratches. Burton and Poli out injured.

STELLER first 40 minutes. Henkel scores 13 seconds in and they dominated the first two periods against a depleted cyclones team. Third period wasn't as good as the first two, not horrible and Coleman when tested which wasn't often closed the door. Snetsinger nets two and Gunderson got the other. Johnson and Harrison apparently had a good one. Johnson later went after Kell and got ejected for being a tool while going to the box.

Great road win for sure.

Same teams go at it again tomorrow.

But Burton is still listed as being on Lowell's roster. Interesting. So now he's injured. Hmm.

Anyway, it's  great  to get a win on the road! Congratulations, T-Devils!

BTW, the ECHL is running the Josh Brett's story about Coleman. Sure would be nice if he stayed healthy.

Burton was injured on the shootout goal against Reading 2+ weeks ago he lost a edge put the puck in the net while sliding into the net, he hit his ankle hard on the post. Lowell did the T-Devils a favor by calling him up on paper if nothing else. He was expect to be out between 2-3 weeks and in the ECHL there's only 1 three day and 1 seven day IR slots, unlimited 30 day. Both short term slots were full and they didn't want to park anybody on the 30, being short on bodies to begin with. Lowell did the same thing with Mondou the last time he was sent down and hurt his shoulder.

Devils Settle Down Cyclones, 4-1

01/09/2009

CINCINNATI, Ohio (January 9, 2009) -- The Trenton Devils scored an early goal against the Cincinnati Cyclones and never looked back en route to a 4-1 win Friday night at U.S. Bank Arena. The win was Trenton's fifth in a row, the longest winning streak since March 19 to April 1, 2005, when they won six in a row.

The Devils got off on the right foot with a goal 13 seconds into the game, tying a team-record last done on October 20, 2002 by Yann Joseph. Eric Castonguay streaking into the zone on the left wing, firing a shot at the circle that was stopped by Cyclones goalie Kyle Gajewski but slammed in by Jim Henkel, his 10th goal of the season.

Brad Snetsinger doubled the lead at 4:14 as Jeremy Akeson eluded the Cyclones defense on his way into the zone and dropped it for Snetsinger, who fired in his fifth goal of the season.

Snetsinger returned to the scoresheet eight minutes into the second period with his second goal of the game, as he took a Matt Cohen pass in the left circle and fired another wrist shot past Gajewski, who was pulled after the goal in favor of Ryan Nie.

The Devils continued their groove on the power play at 6:48 of the third as Ryan Gunderson fluttered in a shot from the blue line past Nie for his fourth of the season. The Devils have now scored a power play goal in 14 straight games.

Cincinnati got a consolation goal at 8:32 on the power play from Barret Ehgoetz, who deked around Gerald Coleman and stuffed the puck into the net.

Coleman made 20 saves for his sixth win in seven starts for the Devils. The Devils went 1-for-5 on the power play and killed eight of Cincinnati's nine power plays. In addition to Snetsinger's two goals, Akeson had a pair of assists for the Devils.
