I just thought I would give you guys an alternative to a "fantasy hockey pool" this season. Why not get into something a little more intense?
My buddies and I have started a site and a league where we use EA Sports' NHL 2003 for a hockey league. Its impartial due to the games being CPU controlled and simulated. You don't need to own NHL 2003. We will take care of that.
Do I have your attention yet?
Okay so this is how it goes down:
If you want in, you come to the site, sign up (no email, no passwords, no sensitive information) and "create" your player so our roster maker can put you into the league. Then our original six format GMs will look around the NHL and do a draft. Draft picks will be divided amongst the 6 teams depending on however many players we have signed up. (i.e.: 30 signed up, 6 teams, 5 draft picks per team.)
We have custom jerseys for the teams that the GMs have made themselves. Currently we have three teams in the league. (The East Coast Eagles, The Tucson Cobras, and the Minnesota Huskies.)
Each player will neogiate deals with their team's GM and "make a contract." If you don't like it, protest and go to the media. We will then release the news that you arent happy or you want to be trade. There are even trade rumors!!!
This is about as close as you guys are gonna get to the NHL this month so why not stop by? It's free!
Come check it out at http://5mm.2ya.com or just go straight to the sign ups.
You could be drafted on September 27th, if you sign up today!
