I love the 80s and I love the Devils, but I don’t love 80s Devils hockey. That’s what that looked like tonight. Haven’t seen anything like that all season.

1990 Stanley Cup hero, along with Edmonton goalie Bill Ranford and a bald-headed captain who will not be named. RIP.

Lafreniere was supposed to be a lot better, but I honestly blame the Rangers and their team construction that has hampered his development.
I tend to agree with you. Is it a coincidence that Kakko AND Lafreniere have been underwhelming? I'm suspicious.

We love to give up shorthanded goals to this team. Would like to see that trend end.

These playoffs feel like 2006 all over again: beating the Rangers in the 1st, Hurricanes coming up in round 2 and even Brind'Amour is there. Hopefully the result is different this year.
My recommendation is don't have a Game 2 like Devils-Carolina in 2006. Devastating. That's the NHL playoffs. Disaster always looms.

Did anyone talk about this here? My first time seeing it but looks like the Devils fan started it...
You never know who you're screwing with. That Devil fan got himself in a situation he couldn't handle.

I know there's always a few points in the season you can point to of not doing x doesn't result in y happening but that March game in Florida really was a big one.
If we don't blow a 2 goal lead in the 3rd period by giving up like 3 goals in 3 minutes then Florida doesn't even make the playoffs and we would have won the division.
I thought Florida was screwed when they lost to Carolina in Game 82 and had to play Boston!

Stunning!

You could argue this being the biggest upset in NHL history if it happens. Florida was also trailing 3-1 in the series, making it even more miraculous.
It's hard to believe the Bruins are here. It certainly would be one of the biggest playoff upsets, right up there with the Sharks beating Detroit in 1994 and others I can't think of right now.

I'm ready for a BS penalty in our favor.

If the Bruins lose game 7 on home ice to Florida after leading 3-1 in the series- and after the regular season they had- it is an unmitigated disaster. There’s no other way to say it. All the pressure is on Boston tomorrow night.
You’re 100 percent right, they just can’t lose to this Florida team in Round 1. Disaster looms.

Bruins and their fans looked right past the Panthers when this was confirmed the matchup. Let their sphincters pucker more
What's going on now in that series ....... makes no sense at all.

Yet people still talk about them in some circles like they have something going on. What exactly?
It's been a pretty effective line this season. It's just hard to forget the fact that Kakko and Lafreniere were expected to be much more than they are.

I completely agree with you on this. Withstanding the expected onslaught will be crucial. If the Devils can manage to take the lead. I'm pretty sure their heads will drop. They looked shell shocked in the third period last night as it was.
I agree but I will add that there are likely only a select number of players on the Rangers who can give them the lift they need at even strength. I can't see Panarin doing it and I can't see Patrick Kane doing it. If I were a Ranger fan, I wouldn't be upset if Gallant scratched Kane. Zibanejad is a gamer and as much as we poke fun at Kakko, I can see his line providing a lift.
If the Devils take stupid penalties, however, the door can open for the Rangers, including passenger Panarin. -

From Larry Brooks "Trailing 3-0 after the second period, the Rangers were outshot 20-2 in the third period" I didn't realize that the Devils were that dominant in the third. Impressive stat.
Killer instinct detected.
