The thing that bugs me most about the trade is the Coyotes paying 50% of Yandle's salary. Thats one area they really won, regardless of what the picks/Duclair turn out to be. Yandle is a Rag next year for 2.5M on the cap.

He's deserved of a top 15 spot IMO. I wouldnt rank him in the top 10 personally, but he wouldnt be that far out of there. Easily one of the top 2 American defenders ever. #5 is entirely too high though. Off the top of my head: Orr, Robinson, Potvin, Lidstrom, and Bourque were all better than him, not necessarily in that order, those are just 5 names better. Against Niedermayer and Stevens, I'm biased b/c obviously and its extremely hard to say Leetch is better than them, it'd depend on situation. I'd rather Stevens for his position and his mind games, and I'd take Nieds for skating/PP quarterbacking. Leetch is kind of a jack of all trades compared to those two, but Stevens/Nieds are two of the best ever at what they provided.

Rags made another trade. Stempniak to Winnipeg for Carl Klingberg Zuccarello extended 4 years 18 million.

And Havlat. And Ryder. And Salvador. And whoever else we can jettison bar the few untouchables.

I highly doubt they'd give us the higher one, not for a 38 year old rental, we'd be lucky if they gave the lower. They could get Yandle if they really want to part with one of those.

Calgary's not in right now. They're 3 points out of the 2nd WC spot. They're in the hunt, but I imagine they're looking at it as getting something for nothing and dont have a lot of confidence in the playoffs.
