The Chicago Blackhawks announced Thursday that the club has re-signed forwards Eric Daze and Kyle Calder. In keeping with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are very pleased to have both players signed to multi-year contracts," said Blackhawks general manager Bob Pulford. "We see theses players as a part of our future."

Daze, a 6'6", 235 pound, 29-year-old forward appeared in only 19 games for the Blackhawks last season, scoring four goals while adding seven assists for 11 points, after undergoing back surgery during the season.

A veteran of 10 NHL seasons, Daze has notched eight 20-plus goal seasons while four-times exceeding the 30-goal plateau. He was the Blackhawks 4th round selection, 90th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He has played his entire NHL career with the Blackhawks, scoring 226 goals while adding 172 assists for 398 points in 600 games.

He has also played in 37 post-season games, all with the Blackhawks as well, scoring five goals and seven assists for 12 points and eight penalty minutes. Daze was selected to the 2002 NHL All-Star Game, bringing home the MVP honors after scoring two goals and adding an assists.

Calder, a 5'11", 176 pounds, 25-year-old forward appeared in 66 games with the Blackhawks last season, scoring 21 goals and adding 18 assists for 39 points and 29 penalty minutes. Last season marked Calder's first season of 20-or-more goals in the NHL.

A veteran of five NHL seasons, Calder was the Blackhawks' 7th choice, 130th overall, in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft. He has appeared in 280 NHL career games scoring 59 goals and 92 assists for 151 points and 132 penalty minutes.
