Weekes Head
The Yotes lost 3-1 to Nashville tonight in their first game at the Glendale Arena. Nice crowd they had -- standing-room-only crowd of 19,052 in the 17,799-seat Glendale Arena. Much larger arena than the piece of crap made-for-basketball arena they used to have. That must be tough though, spending a decent portion of your season in one place and then spending the rest in a a "new" home that really won't feel like home for a long time...ehh... sammyk
That's a nice size for an arena. Only 1600 more than they had. Seems anything more than 18,000 in a small market is too much. I think I read somewhere that Phoenix asked to play more road games until their arena was complete so it wouldn't feel like a "new" home. I just counted and it seems they only played 13 home games at AWA. Too bad they couldn't get a win tonite, but I'm rooting for Nashville too. NJayDevil
A lacrosse game was the first event at the arena, go figure.

insanity_gallops
Vokoun is a beast. If he had a more solid defense in front of him, he'd be even better.
exit_16w
A lacrosse game was the first event at the arena, go figure. Hey whats wrong with lacrosse??
NJayDevil
Nothing, I was just stating that a lacrosse game opened the new arena, kinda weird when you think about it. How many new arenas get opened by a lacrosse game?
