Weekes Head Posted January 6, 2005 Share Posted January 6, 2005 According to TSN.ca: Ovechkin sidelined for three weeks TSN.ca Staff 1/6/2005 TSN has learned Russian star Alexander Ovechkin has been diagnosed with strained shoulder muscles and will be sidelined for three weeks. The Washington Capitals, who selected Ovechkin first overall in last summer's Entry Draft, have said that he will not need surgery to repair the damage. Ovechkin was injured in Tuesday's gold medal game against Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship in North Dakota. He was named the top forward in the tournament with seven goals and four assists and was named the all-star team. Not to metion him chirping off in the paper about Canada's goaltending, saying the goalies suck they just need to be shot on to win, they haven't been tested.
