I'm talking about Spezza crashing the net. When the GM talks about Gonchar increasing Spezza's point production I see Gonchar doing that by firing shots(on the powerplay) from the blueline with Spezza deflecting the shot. I don't see Spezza being a true center by setting up a lot of goals for others. He's not a Joe Thornton type center.
I don't see how Gonchar will increase Spezza's production. He's not a crash-the-net, deflect shots kind of center. He was shopped but I think his stock went down considerably last year especially since he only managed to play 60 games.
On the other hand we can always use more Italian guys on the Devils.
What's with Russian ladies and singing careers? Apparently Mel Gibson's Russian lady-friend wants a singing career too. Is there a big market for slavic singers?
Some folks are writing on other Devils boards that we should look at Denis Grebeshkov for a pmd. What d'ya guys think. Pair him with Vochenkov and name the matchup the Trasnsiberian Railroad with the A and D trains.
Lou will announce signing a defenseman but it will be a Martin Skoula Karel Rachunek type signing. I'm just a bit jaded that he'll sign a high profile defenseman.
I'm a little baffled at his wife wanting LA as well. I'm pretty sure recording studios in NY/NJ have autotune so why worry?
When I picture Kovy and his wife negotiating I think of the Two A$$holes sketch from Saturday Night Live.
"Babe, Hey, Babe. How about Los Angeles?"
"Ugh, I want a Cappucino."
Kovy's going to play in Los Angeles / Not the one in Los Angeles / No, not the one in South California / They got one in South Patagonia!
Re: Kovay and his singer wife: Why is it that I'm reminded of Citizen Kane and the scene where he builds a theater so his tone deaf wife can sing opera?
Mike Judge did a short Beavis and Butthead clip on the JackassWorld 24 hour takeover on MTV a couple years ago. Apparently Steve-O made a rap album and they showed the video for his single. They aired the video with Beavis and Butthead commenting on it. It was pretty good. B&B imagined what they would be like if they were black.
Weeksie! Just because he looked all excited whenver he came out to congratulate Brodeur after Marty won a game. Also, because he was considered to be a true team player and he was the first onto the ice to congratulate everyone after a win.
May I be the official cokeeper of Jason Arnott if it's okay with Marty is the best. and can I be the Unofficial keeper of Pepe Silvia for all my It's Always Sunny Peeps Out There?
Ren and Stimpy was a big f'n deal when it first appeared. I remember watching an episode with friends and there was nothing like it. Same thing with Beavis and Butthead. I remember the first vignette on Liquid Television, Frog Baseball, my friends and I were rolling. Now because cartoons like that saturate the market they're ho hum except if you remember what it was like to see them fresh.
Everybody in the media is a prcik to the Devils. I remember last year when the matchups in the P/O were announced. The ESPN anchors noted which games would be on tv and then they said that the Devs/Canes game would probably just be on radio because it would be a snoozer.
