I did in fact start following the Devils during the 2000 playoff run. I’ve watched hockey since I was a little kid though. We’ve had teams in the ECHL, IHL, and AHL here in Cincinnati most of my life. But even if we’re going by just NHL watching experience I’m not sure I agree people are necessarily more knowledgeable than I am just because they’ve been watching for 25-30 years to my 20. I know for a fact we have people here who only really watch the Devils, so someone like myself who’s had Center Ice for almost a couple decades now might have actually watched a lot more hockey than the guy who only watches one team.

I’d say. There’s only 6 active players right now that have done it (Ovi, Crosby, Stamkos, Malkin, Perry, Draisaitl). With the exception of Perry, who was pretty close at one point (Hart Trophy winner), those guys are all unquestionably elite players.

My Hall is actually the old style jersey. I bought a couple blank authentics from Meigray after we made the switch to the Adidas, and I had it made into a Hall during his MVP season. It’s kind of making my decision a little easier to just keep it as is since it is the old one. Obviously I can’t just slap a new player on it even if we get another decent #9, so my choices would be somewhat limited what player I could redo it with. It would have to be a player that wore the Edge and had a single digit number that would cover 9 well. I’ve thought about making it a White #5, but now I’m thinking about just keeping it as is.

ONE Devil has ever won an MVP and we’re talking about a franchise that’s had multiple HoFers and played in 5 Stanley Cups... it was a special season to me, and it brought the Devils out of the irrelevance they’d been in for years. Obviously (especially with how it ended) ymmv.

I thought it was an extremely fun ride. Obviously the ending sucked, but Hall really was a true force out there that season. What did he have like 26 games in a row with a point? That’s insane. Add in the excitement of all the youngsters like Nico, Bratt, Butcher, all the great Boyle moments, and it made for a really memorable season, imo.

Same. Thinking about just keeping my Hall jersey as is. Might be cool to bust it out years from now and wear it as a throwback. There’s no denying how special that season was. Right up there with 2012 and the Cup years.

I made my heritage into a Hischier as well. They’re sharp jerseys, imo. Now if we can just win a damn game in them...
