SueNJ97
This is a bit of a surprise...I thought Dale would be a goner...but maybe they are going to try and trade him for some used pucks. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=92622&hubName=nhl Purinton re-signs with Rangers Sports Ticker 7/27/2004 New York - New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has re-signed Group II free agent defenseman Dale Purinton. Devils731
Well I'm sure the Rangers are relieved not to let him slip away. -Scott
insanity_gallops
...hmm. Guess the Rangers wanted to ensure they'd have at least one cro-magnon specimen in the lineup at times throughout the season.
Pepperkorn
I have a confession... I ALWAYS read it Sports TickLer... it's not easy being as inane as me!
Giac
Sue, there's a bit of speculation that Purinton was kept as waiver draft bait and little else. If Leetch were still here, I'd have some hope that we could salvage him; but then again, if a frog had wings, it wouldn't bump its ass when it hopped. Matteau#32
dale is cheap, and will help the Rangers in their quest for Crosby. This signing was a no-brainer. Apparently, he does have trade value due to his low salary, I think he made $425K last year.
