sheeps
http://www.theschief.com/pics dr33 is going to criticize me for being a typical tourist!
devildoggie
very cool pics. I'm curious, where is the canal that I always see people skating on (during hockey broadcasts) . I've heard once or twice that skating is actually a legitimate mode of transportation in Ottawa because of the canal.

HarbingerOfSorrow
Hey DR33, did you get Sheepy's autograph? He's a big celebrity in the capital city.
Derek21
I really enjoyed looking at those pics Sheeps. I have always wanted to visit Ottawa and now I know why. I will have to make due and get up there some time. Thanks.
sheeps
That is "the" canal they talk about. Yes you can use it as a means of transportation - in fact, I saw it firsthand. It's very nice because it is used well almost year-round; in the summer, smaller-sized boats bring people up and down the river. In the winer, ice skates are all you need to go from Parliament Hill to your front door. Can't wait to see it in the summer, the postcards of the boats traveling past all the sidewalk cafes look amazing.
sheeps
What's even more amazing is that although I took 51 pictures of Ottawa, I could have had so many more. We did sight-seeing in the Byward Market, gambled at the Casino du Lac Leamy, went ice skating on the canal, and more. Everything is very centralized in Ottawa; I wish I had more time there but two days gave us a ton of opportunities. Virtually everything major is in walking distance.
