nyrsuck26
Game is Tuesday at 5:00pm in Minneapolis I will be rooting for Minnesota, because they don't have nearly as good pitching as Detroit IMO.

nmigliore
I don't think Manta likes baseball. He sent me tickets to one of the last games at Shea for free last year and so he will always awesome in my book. Anyway, I'm obviously no Yankee fan but I figured I would put in my input - the Tigers are all out of sorts while the Twins have been red hot. Plus, the Tigers have like nobody 'scary' in their lineup besides Miguel Cabrera. Granderson has had a nice year but he cant hit lefties for nothing. thefiestygoat
I'm probably just paranoid but I feel like wishing for an opponent is bad karma if that makes any sense. Sure I'm just being too cautious but it just seems that when you wish for an opponent and get that opponent they tend to pull the upset. All I can say is that I am thrilled that they have to play a one game playoff the night before they start the post season against the Yankees. I hope the game goes 30 innings and uses every single pitcher until they're exhausted. (I can dream can't I)
PeteyNice
The clear answer is Detroit. Verlander is very human outside Detroit (4+ ERA, more hits than innings pitched). Minnesota has a better lineup and a hammer bullpen. Plus they play in a pinball machine stadium. But the big reason is run differential. Detroit was a -1! Minnesota a +51. For reference the Yankees were a league best +162. Yes, ripping Glass Carl a new one would be satisfying, but the Yankees match up better against the Tigers. DH26
the yankees own the twins though. The Twins have nobody as good as Jackson or Verlander. I don't want to see Verlander twice but I have no problem seeing any of the twins pitchers more than once. Both have very ordinary lineups outside of Mauer and Cabrera
