  1. No worries dm, just kept the board activity up instead.
  2. The panthers/nucks deal is official. Florida with their 3rd first rounder.
  3. I like that pick by the panthers. When you have a top 3 pick and a 2nd first rounder you can take a little bit of a chance. Bjugstad has questions about how much offense he develops, but he should be a nhl player in some capacity.
  4. You know a pick is off the board when McKenzie has no notes and is speechless.
  5. The Blues must be really unhappy with Rundblad, he was their 1st rounder number 17 last year.
  6. According to Dregger, LA and Florida are at the registry for a trade. Looks like the Kings are moving up.
  7. The slide continues. Rangers pick a supposed tough d. Makes sense when you have Del Zotto and Sanguinetti in the pipeline. Better hope he turns into more than a fighter.
  8. I know you generally don't draft bpa, but the Rangers need forwards more than they need defensemen. Well i'm glad both the Thrashers and Wild made me look silly.
  9. I wouldnt be shocked to see them both gone in the next two picks. Both Atlanta and Minnesota need d in the pipeline badly.
  10. He was talked about as good as anyone in the draft before this year. Funny how all the experts got it wrong thinking the Bolts had to go for d. Someone who didnt think they would get a defender may step into a big surprise right now.
  11. That one shakes things up a bit in the order.
  12. Im not. There have been lots of questions about Fowler's game outside of the offensive side. Scouting reports go both ways on him beyond his offensive game. It depends on what kind of defenseman the team wanted. With the Panthers taking Kulikov they didnt really have a need for a guy like Fowler, but they do need guys who can be more of shutdown types, which Gudbranson fits. Is that E from entourage on the stage? WTF wang.
  13. We are 4 picks in and I have not heard the word "Monster" from Pierre yet, maybe it will be a good night.
  14. For Steve Bernier and the 25th Pick http://twitter.com/OnFrozenPond Hes the Panther's beat writer for the Sun Sentinal
  15. Rumor has it that Ballard is going to Vancouver as early as tonight. Too bad, I have always liked him, but the devils dont have the assets it would take to get him. Florida just doesnt want salary back.
  16. Oddly it appears that the chat room is not working atm. Hopefully dm or some other technical wizard can helps us out.
  17. From the game in Chicago on 12/31, which I tend to call the tipping point in the season where it all went bad, until the game before they got Kovy the team went 7-9-1 for a 41% winning percentage. From the 2/5 game vs Toronto till the end of the season the team went 13-9-5 for a winning % of 46%. Now for some Paul Martin analysis. After he came back the team went 6-3-4 for a winning % of 46%. At the start of the season before he got hurt the team went 6-3-0 for a win % of 66% While Paul was out the team went 35-21-3 for a win % of .59. To split that up before 12/31 the team went 22-6-1 for a win % of .75. From 12/31 to 3/17 when Paul came back the team went 13-15-2 with a win % of .43. Now Andy Greene's play has been credited for saving the team in that time. His statline in total from post 10/25/09 to 3/17/10 is 6g 22a + 6 with a ppg of .474 and an average icetime of 24.88. But once you break that up using the 12/31 game as the collapse point for the team. There were 29 games before this one for Andy and 30 after it. Before the 12/31 game he had 6g 22a and was a + 6 averaging 25.24 minutes a night. He had 4 ppg and 7 ppa. His total ppg was .724 over a 29 game stretch. From 12/31 to 3/15 Andy put up 1g 6a even, with 24.55 minutes a night. In this stretch he put up 0 ppg and 1 ppa. His points per game fell to .233. Now to the contention that He played better again once martin came back. Post Martin's comeback on 3/17 Andy put up 0g 7a was -1 and averaged 20 minutes a night. He put up 0 powerplay goals 3 ppa, and had an overall ppg of .54, a definite improvement over the prior 30 game stretch. In total Andy averaged 5.95 minutes more a night when Paul martin was out of the lineup. The first 30 games with that ice time were the most productive we have ever seen him. The second 30 games were terrible offensively, and was holding even on the +/-. Once Martin got back we saw an immediate jump back up in his offensive production, but that didnt translate into any boost in +/- with almost half of his points coming on the pp. What does this all tell us? For the first 29 game stretch Andy Greene played like a man possessed. By the second 30 games shows a drastic decline in production, I would attribute this to the icetime taking its toll on him and wearing him down terribly. Finally once Martin got back into the lineup, and Andy's icetime was relieved to normal levels we saw his production start to pick back up. Now why is this all important? It reinforces a point I made in a post last week in my analysis of Paul Martin. The rest of this defensive roster can not absorb 23 minutes plus of icetime each night. It will drive them into the ground. How does this impact Martin's importance to the team? He is the only guy on this roster that has demonstrated that he can take 23-24 minutes a night of icetime and have it not drag on his play over the course of a 82 game season. Yes, he will almost always miss a few games a year, but thats a small price to pay for a guy who eats minutes in all situations at the levels he does.
  18. Manta, yea the link for it is in the top left of the screen, just below the NJDevs logo.
  19. Nah Versus sticks with it until the first round is done. The NHL network will do a post round 1 program at 11 pm tonight. Then the Nhl network will pick it up again tomorrow when the 2nd round resumes at 1 pm saturday.
  20. The Versus coverage ends at 10, in the past it has always gone longer than that though.
  21. For those who are as desperate for hockey news as I am come join chat tonight and tomorrow for the draft action. Analyze the picks and trades in real time with your favorite Devils fans!
  22. That is a lot of assets moving for Buff, a salary dump, and a 4th liner. In return two top 6 picks, a serviceable center and a 2nd tier prospect. The Thrashers must be sold on Buff as a top 6 forward moving forward.

    Quinn Out of Oil

https://twitter.com/RealKyper Edm will make a major change behind the bench; Moving ahead with Tom Renney as head coach. , Pat Quinn gone. Details to follow...
  24. Per Mckenzie https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie Horton and Gregory Campbell for Dennis Wideman, 15th overall pick and another draft pick. Done
  25. Actually with it being two players going back the Bruins could be adding someone like Gregory Campbell to shore up the Bruins center depth on the cheap. Totally negating my entire first post.
