  1. I'm only 5'2" but about 180 and female (so a little room in the chest is fine with me ). Other than the sleeves ending at my fingertips, a L is pretty much a perfect fit. I can go up to XL but can't go down to M. I think anything bigger than a 48 would be too big but might be able to wear a 46.
  2. IceJerseys.com has some good sizing info and comparisons on their site. Their sizing chart has the general conversions between authentic and replica sizes. You'll find the authentics are cut larger in the shoulder/arm area to fit over pads. The sleeves are wider and have the underarm gussets (extra fabric connecting the body to the sleeves, providing better movement and more allowance) that don't appear on the replicas. If you look closely at the photos (click on the authentic and replica links above) you can see the difference in how the sleeves are connected. I own several replicas (L with some XL thrown in) and recently got an authentic in a size 48 since that's the suggested size. Although I'm fine with the sizing, I have the suspicion I might even be able to fit into an authentic 46 (while a replica M would look snug) simply because of the added room at the top of the jersey. The authentics do taper and fit pretty much the same as the replicas do from the bottom part of the crest on down.
  3. So far, the only single game tickets that have been announced are for the family section ($32, going on sale this Thursday only in person at the Wachovia Center box office) and there's a rumor I read today that there may not even be anything else available for public sale. Should the Flyers end up against the Devils in the first round, I'll have a single seat available for home game 2 in Philly since I have a full playoff package but a friend got a pair of seats for both of us to attend that game.
  4. I bought a ticket earlier in the season for the Easter Sunday game at CAA between the Flyers and Devils, but a friend of mine decided they wanted to come with me, so I'm selling the single ticket I originally purchased. It's in Sec. 238, Row 24, and I'm offering it for $20 face value. I can either mail out the ticket via Priority Mail by Tuesday at the latest (add an additional $4 to cover mailing costs), or if you want to meet up, I'll be at CAA on Thursday night for the Flyers/Devils matchup. If you live in the Princeton area or south, we might also be able to arrange a meeting (I'm in Bucks County, PA). Please notify me via PM if interested. Thanks!
  5. Wow, that's neat. I work at a major chain bookstore and our receiving manager knows I'm a fellow hockey nut. When I got back from my break yesterday, he gave me a copy of that book to look at since it caught his eye when he was unpacking the boxes and he was reading (and enjoying) it during lunch. I'll see if I can make it my staff recommendation.
  6. Thanks for the comments, I'm glad everyone's enjoyed the pics. I'll be sure to post again after the April 16 game, although I'll be down at the Flyers end for warmups. As for a favorite Devil...if I had to begrudgingly name one, it would have to be Brodeur. There's no doubt he's one of the league's best goaltenders.
  7. I took my cousins to the Devils/Islanders game last Saturday and they had quite an exciting time at their first hockey game. (I'm glad I decided to take them to that game instead of waiting until the April 16 game when I'm going up there to see the Flyers/Devils matchup. Our tickets were in the very enthusiastic Sec. 218. At least I could join in the "Rangers Suck!" chants. ) Anyway, I figured I'd share the link to the photos I took at the game. Enjoy.
  8. That sounds good. I'll probably allow some extra time, anyway, since I have to get the tickets at will call and then I want to be settled in time to catch warmups. It's gonna be weird watching a game with no rooting interest but I'm hoping for some good hockey.
  9. Not too far from where the Devils practice - just off the Pleasant Valley Way exit on 280 in West Orange.
  10. Tomorrow's game will be my first trip up to the Meadowlands and I'm taking my cousins to their first hockey game. All of this parking talk has me worried since I'm not familiar with the setup there. How early would we have to get there to have a shot at the parking deck adjacent to the arena?
  11. Thanks for the info. I figured they had to be near the top. My Flyers seats are in a similar location (next to last row) so I should be fine with the angle although I'll have binoculars with me in case they have a tough time following the puck. It looks like one of the sets of tickets in the corner just sold so I'm going to snap up the other ones now before I get stuck with seats at the end where the Isles shoot twice.
  12. I'm planning on treating two of my cousins to their first live hockey game on Jan. 21 by taking them to the Devils game against the Isles. (Yes, I'm a Flyers fan, but they're from West Orange. It's cheaper and a lot more practical for me to go up there and take them to a Devils home game.). My goal is to introduce them to the experience and hopefully hook them on hockey in the process. They're 21 and 15 but they have limited or no experience attending a sporting event, so it's going to be special for them. Since I've never been up there (I'll be back at the end of the regular season for the Flyers/Devils matchup If they end up enjoying this, I'll sell my ticket to that game and get a fresh set of tickets.) I'm not familiar with how the seating runs. What is the last row in the CAA? I think Ticketmaster was giving me options (looking at the $20 seats) of rows 21 or 22 in opposite corners at the end where the Devils attack twice.
  13. Yeah, they would. From the official contest rules: It would be crazy, but if you chose the pucks and were able to sell all of them for the estimated value of $1 each, there's the chance you could have $1 million faster than if you choose the annuity.
  14. I'm gonna bet that's part of the NHL's Million Pucks promotion. (http://millionpucks.nhl.com) Each NHL team has some of those GameOn promo pucks to give away and they direct you to that web address to fill out the contest entry. There's a winner for each NHL team (the prizes depend on the team, and most of them are either a night in a suite or partial season packages, but there are a few variants) and a grand prize of a trip to the 2004 NHL All-Star Game in Minnesota where you get to shoot on goal to win your choice of $1 million or 1 million pucks. ( Uh, yeah, that's a hard choice...) You don't need a puck to enter, but I'm personally trying to find out when the Flyers are doing their promotion(s) since I think it's a neat souvenir. About half the teams have the info on their sites for the puck giveaways, others just link to the contest site, and a few have no mention at all. I noticed the Devils are doing their promotion next Monday at Livingston Mall.
  15. One of the online video clips I watched had an interview with an officer on scene...the speed limit on that stretch of road was 35 mph.
  16. Thanks...I think. It's just an honest coincidence that I registered/posted after a Flyers-Devils game since I might be headed up to West Orange tomorrow. We had no TV here either (only radio - the game on the 27th up at the Meadowlands will be on TV here, though), but they had some brief clips here on Comcast SportsNet. There wasn't much to go on, but it looked like Hitchcock's plan to work the area in front of the net more aggressively was a key factor in the game. Several of the Flyers goals appeared to be courtesy of screens and tip-ins in the slot area.
  17. Hello all...no bashing, please...I was looking for a good Devils discussion board to ask a question, and this was the best one I found, so don't hold my Flyers allegiance against me, LOL. (Let's enjoy mutual dislike of the Rangers instead. ) Anyway, I have a few relatives up in West Orange, right near the South Mountain Arena, and there's a chance we might be going up there tomorrow (Saturday), so the thought of catching part of the Devils training camp practices/scrimmages came to mind. Even if I don't get up there tomorrow, there are still a few weeks left in camp, so I was wondering if anyone knew what the practice/scrimmage schedule is for the remainder of camp? Thanks, and here's to a good preseason rematch on Tuesday in Trenton. -FlyerCub
