  1. John Moore. I'm starting to come to believe that there is a chance that John Moore might be re-signing here. Playing behind an improved group of forwards, he's not as horrible as some of the things I read. He plays fast, he seems to have the coaching staff's trust. Since he's been here he never has gotten a reduction in TOI, and he doesn't get scratched. At 27, he's got just over 400 NHL games in. I could see the Devils signing him for another 3 years. It's not like there is a ton in the system ready to replace him. Mueller only has about 69 or so total NHL games under him, and only 13 here. I think outside of an occasional bad giveaway, he's been solid. Unless there's a trade or UFA signing, maybe bringing Moore back is the right move.
  2. Allright. Not pretty, but 2 points is 2 points. PK, Cory....,nice. We'll be on to hosting Buffalo and a possible homestand sweep.
  3. Let's go fellas. Keep the home cookin, point-train moving along. Hopefully, Pavel Zacha has a breakout game on the score-sheet.
  4. I hope everyone had the Merriest of Christmases. Thanks to all on here for making this enjoyable Devils season even more enjoyable.
  5. I agree with you. 22 years old, only 69 games, and he brings some physicality. I wonder if the folks who are so critical are the same ones who screamed we needed to get younger. And when we do, then they don't have the patience to put up with the growing pains that will come with young guys. Especially D-men. But this is why this season developing like it has is so great. Now these young guys are playing in games with a lot of meaning. How much more beneficial is that to their growth then playing in games like last year?
  6. The Kings, Stars, Ducks, Rangers and the Hawks were all pretty hot coming into the Rock,no? Just remarkable.
  7. What a homestand. No cupcakes. Just wow. 5 in a row at home. Detroit and Buffalo to finish it off. Merriness to all. And let's get some positive news on Palms and Boyle.
  8. Now, Hynes needs to rip his team a new one probably like Joel Q. did between the 1st intermission.
  9. Let's go fellas. Keep the home cookin point train movin right along. Chicago is going to be coming in here looking to erase a bad loss against Dallas, they had won the previous 5, and I expect that team to bring it heading into the Holiday break. Hopefully, Pavel Zacha has a breakout game on the score-sheet.
  10. I think they can. They have played some consistent good hockey. They have their moments, but they seem dead serious about not being satisfied with good wins and not letting bad play fester. Hynes calls them out when they play bad and challenges them this year. Big difference from last year.
  11. 4-0-1 since that horsecrap weekend. Won the last 4 at home. And with all rookies and young guys, playing in games like tonight is huge.
  12. I don't agree with what you said. Period. you don't agree with me. I'll leave at that and not have an argument when the team beat those egg suckin dogs,
  13. I'm sorry, but I can't agree. Goal 1 4 Devils in front and don't clear. Goal #2 Severson doesn't tie the man up. Goal #3 off a skate of Severson. A goalie can't tie a skaters stick up, and he can't clear the crease, especially when there is 1 Ranger and 4 other Devils. We disagree here. Schneider made some huge saves down the stretch.
  14. oh yeah. Who's feelin it?? This team is so legit. The right team got the W..and the good guys too..
  15. Bryce is excellent. The guy with the Natural Hat Trick charts and graphs, not so much. Sal's video breakdowns really break things down.
  16. Win this period. The Devils are all over this ice. Just chill on some of these passes. Don't force it. The 1st line is killing it.
  17. Hey. The Devils looked good, for the most part. The 2nd goal...aagh, But passing and moving the puck looks good. Keep this up. Taylor Hall looks possessed. The Devils are gonna win this.
  18. Let's go fellas. Keep the Home-stand train moving. Big late December game against the Dolan's, love it. Looking for Pavel Zacha to have a breakout game on the score-sheet. (I said that before last game, they got a W. I'm superstitious, sue me.)
  19. The response this week to last weekend, or 3 of the previous 4 games, can't be understated. To get 5 out of 6, and 3 out of 4 points with Hall out and Johannson out is really a statement that internally, this team has higher expectations for itself. Claude Julien, post game in Montreal, said that this Devils team is no fluke. Now that was really a massive jump to a long homestretch. And the chance to do some point piling is here. Schneider has been just high end. He's playing to a .930 save % in December. This is really a chance for him to make a mark. His 1st time since he's been here that there's a team that can score more than 2 fairly regularly. This far into a season, and this team in a good spot. For all the good seasons he has had since he's been here, save last year, playing big in important games is what it's all about. And Taylor Hall, he's never played on a team that finished with more than 70 something points. I really expect him and Schneider to start feeling it and continue leading the way.
  20. The fort has been held down. 3 out of 4 points. 5 out of 6 this week. Huge 2 nights without the big guns. Tip of the cap to the boys. This team is in this. Now let's take advantage of the home games.
  21. Don't know who's in. We won't know the goalie till later, but I'm guessing it's Cory. However I, just hope they keep playing hard, keep creating chances. They can hang in there tonight. Points? Why not? 2 would be sweet. Hall being back would be sweet. Palmieri in tonight would be sweet. But if not, the rest of the team can hold the fort down for another game. It would be really nice if Zacha has a breakout game. Nice having a home game with meaning when the morning temps were in the teens in the great state of New Jersey.
  22. They are keeping pace in the division. This team is going to be in this race, that's the exciting thing. Only 9 regulation losses, fewest in the division by 2. Big homestand starts, take advantage of this part of the schedule. You have to admit that this season is turning out to be a blast. Important games with the weather turning into hockey weather. Good stuff.
  23. That's okay. Sucks you want the extra point. And they outplayed this team. But considering the players out, I'll take the road point. This team is going to be okay.
  24. huge point. Just huge. Good job boys. now finish.
