Kyydax
Such a shame that Lamoriello could have kept Mogilny at a fair price, instead choosing to let him walk to the Laughs....... This one really does rank up there with the drafting of Neil Brady in the 1st round.........
Gomezz23
if he kept mogilny we would still winning cups...i mean we still can, but wow...if we still had him we would be as good as we were in 01...after the 01 game 7 loss i was upset all summer so i didnt even read into the mogoliny issue...why didnt we re-sign him??? MrQuotes
i cant say for sure if we signed mogilny wed defenitely be a better team, but the the malaise would defenitely remain with the players while the downfall of that potentially great dynasty wouldnt have been as quick as this, it wouldve been slowly happening

'7'
We're certainly a much better, and more exciting team with Almo. Things would be a lot different if he was retained in the summer of 01, I don't think Burns would be behind the bench, Arnott or Sykora might still be around. I truly believe we would've beaten Carolina last year had Lou kept the team together. It was torn apart with very shady reasoning. in 01-02 we led the league in goals with 295 and went to the stanley cup finals, game 7. But Lou had seen enough, he was set on turning this team back into the 95-96 devils.

He certainly accomplished that in grand style. Not sure this team is as good as same period.
Chort
I love this topic....and you all know how I feel. Goal scoring was not a problem back then. In fact, everyone fed off each other, and everyone produced because of balance. Remember the PP back then.........it rocked too.
