SBT
Apparently Mario thought he should be immune from being hassled by D-men when he's parked in front of the opposing goal. Devs25
I saw this episode as well. Melrose was tough on Mario saying that they are complaining to get more calls because 50% of their goals come on the power play. I thought I had to get my ears checked. Someone on ESPN not kissing Mary-O's arse????
SBT
Indeed, Devs25. The Pens are full of whiners. Even Moran and Bergevin have been complaining about the lack of calls.
devspage
I love the term "powder puff hockey." That's what it is.
Derek21
Their team is coming back to earth. They scored their first 5-on-5 goal since 11/14. It's only a matter of time before the Pens are at the bottom of the division.
devspage
I love that people are actually playing D on Mario now. I mean, obviously, he's Mario, he's gonna get his chances. But it doesn't mean he needs the engraved invitation.
SueNJ97
I couldn't believe I was hearing it on ESPN either. This has been a weird week...first they tell the truth about the Avs and then about the Pens. Do they all need their medication or something? Haha, I can't believe Melrose would dare diss Mary-o when his lips have been attached to his derriere in the past I don't know why this is something new to Barry when Mary-o has been whining about 'contact' hockey for AGES!!!!! If you want to know the truth, I used to be a big Pens fan in the early 90s (after the Whalers GM destroyed my team and traded the heart/soul to sh!tsburgh) and I NEVER really ever liked Mario much. Reason being, I couldn't stand his whining about being hit or roughed up during games, yet when he'd do the same thing he'd go crying to the ref for the fact he got penalized. Wait. Wait just a second -- Mario has made contact with other players? And he's drawn penalties? I don't buy it.
insanity_gallops
Heh, how much would you be willing to bet that Mario has at least considered advocating for some sort of volunteer-basis for penalties? Such as, he draws a penalty and another Pen agrees to serve it for him, so the Almighty Mario can remain on the ice? Probably something Mario dreams about.... I loved the line I heard about it: Mario started the year in the owner's box, and finished it in the penalty box.
