Birch
Pregame: Mostly talked about the last win. One nice point the coach made was he has 4 lines that can play well at either end of the ice. Everyone contributes: the last 13 goals were scored by 13 different players. Starting: Frazee, Fraser, Corrente, Vasyunov, Pelley, Tallackson Scratches: Gionta, Wiseman, Rheaume, Halischuk, Ruggeri Lines: Vasyunov-Pelley-Tallackson Murphy-Vrana-Bergfors Zharkov-Swift-DiSalvatore Leblond-Mills-Davis Murphy-Mills-Bergfors Murphy-Pelley-Bergfors Murphy-Bergfors-Davis Murphy-Swift-Bergfors Fraser-Corrente,Salmela-Magnan,Spiller-Eckford PK: Pelley-Murphy-Spiller-Fraser PP: Don't know. I missed it. Well, there was only one! End of 1: No score. Tallackson is wearing #24 tonight for some reason. Several non-calls: Spiller slashing a Bruin, Bruin shoving Fraser face first into the glass, Bergfors run after the whistle. There was some fighting after the horn sounded. Don't know what started it, but Lowell players involved were Eckford, Leblond and Frazee . RJ said Rask was heading down the tunnel and came back out on the ice. No punches were exchanged between Frazee and Rask - just stared at each other before skating off. No penalties from that situation. Hmm. One penalty - Boychuk for hooking. Shots: Prov 8, Lowell 10. End of 2: 1 - 1 1 - 0 Swift (DiSalvatore,Zharkov) @ 1:35 Swift redirected DiSalvatore pass. 1 - 1 McQuaid(Bodnarchuk,Lehtonen) @ 14:54 - PPG Bad news. Vrana was injured during the period. He went down, right leg first into the boards. Had to be helped off the ice. Bruins continued their tricks - Karsums reached off the bench and took a swipe at Corrente, another Bruin checked Murphy late. Despite everything that went on, there was one penalty this period. Zharkov got called for hooking. Shots: Prov 14, Lowell 13. Salmela almost scored near the end of the period with a drive that went off the post. End of 3: Lowell 3 - 2 1 - 2 Reich(Rabbit, Lehtonen) @ 0:32 - Tallackson And Vasyunov got tangled up. Rabbit getting a loose puck, from the corner to Reich. 2 - 2 Swift(Bergfors,Salmela) @ 5:53 - A "perfect tape to tape pass" from Bergfors to Swift, who put it under the cross bar. 3 - 2 PLL (Corrente,Fraser) @ 8:08 - Corrente back by the blue line, shoots. Leblond in front of the net tips it in. Providence got an early goal, but Lowell made a another 3rd period comeback. PLL got hit in the foot with a slapshot. He left the game and remained on the bench (but did not come out to acknowledge his 2nd star). Both teams had 9 shots. No penalties this period. Lowell is now 5-1-0-1 vs. Bruins. Stars: #1 PLL and #2 Michael Swift. On a more somber note: Vrana did not return to the game. RJ thinks it is a serious injury. Jas0nMacIsaac
Lowell wins 3 - 2...Michael Swift is quickly becoming a better known prospect and perfect for a 4th line at the NHL level at some point.

Devs4LIFE
Lowell wins 3 - 2...Michael Swift is quickly becoming a better known prospect and perfect for a 4th line at the NHL level at some point. Only problem with that is that Michael Swift is about 5'9" if i recall. Not a typical 4th liner.

He plays 6`4 and he is a great fighter, ferocious. Guys like Dougie Gilmour made it with speed, toughness and smarts. I think Swift is a diamond in the rough, I said this when we signed him. 5 goals and 11 points in his last 8 games and is a +10. Shtikl
Thanks, Birch! GREAT write-up! I think the PP was Vasyunov - Vr
Devs4LIFE
So why were the players on the P Bruins going after Corrente? Is Corrente dirty or is he just good at getting under the other teams skin?
titans04
Big win and great to see PLL get the game winner. I know Halischuk is a week or so away and Rheaume took the puck to the face and is done for a while, any idea if Gionta is re-injured and what the deal with Wiseman is? Don't know. Ryan Johnston hasn't mentioned anything. Thanks for the PP info, Shtikl! Devs4LIFE - Corrente is always ready to scrap.
titans04
Ugh - per TG Vrana to have surgery on broken leg The Devils announced that center Petr Vrana has a broken leg and will have surgery today. The team did not give any information about how much time he is expected to miss. Vrana was injured during Lowell's 3-2 win over Providence on Wednesday night.
