Game 3 now switches over to Pittsburgh and also it will be shown on VERSUS instead of NBC tonight @ 8:00 PM. Game 4 in Pittsburgh will also be shown on VERSUS @ 8:00 PM. Detroit has held serve on their home ice winning the first two games and now it is Pittsburgh's turn to win on their home ice if they want to make this a series. Game 3 is a must win for Pittsburgh tonight. Pittsburgh looks to get back in this series and hope to get some bounces and some breaks that DFetroit got in the first two games of this series. Pittsburgh should have a better showing tonight on their home ice infront of their fans in the sea of white. Detroit looks to take the commanding 3-0 series lead with a win tonight on the road. Pittsburgh needs and gets this Game 3 win tonight on home ice to make this a series.

Wings' Datsyuk still not likely for Game 3

PITTSBURGH -- Despite holding a commanding two-games-to-none lead on Pittsburgh in the Stanley Cup Final, the Detroit Red Wings know they will have to be better in Tuesday's Game 3.

And, most likely, they will have to improve without the presence of Pavel Datsyuk, one of the three candidates for the League's regular-season MVP award. Datsyuk remains hindered by a slow-healing foot injury suffered in the Western Conference Final.

"They had another look at him today and everything seems to be fine," Detroit coach Mike Babcock said at the team's media session at downtown hotel here this afternoon. "Now, it's up to him."

Yet, Tuesday seems unlikely as Datsyuk is still aggressively rehabbing the injury. Plus, Babcock has the cushion of a 2-0 series lead. It allows him to be patient with Datsyuk, instead of rushing him back.

That's why Kris Draper is unlikely to make a return in Game 3. According to Babcock, Draper was cleared for play on Sunday, but Babcock has liked what he has seen from his current lineup in forging back-to-back 3-1 victories.

For Penguins, frustration as real as 2-0 deficit

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=424511

The last time the Pittsburgh Penguins were in this kind of hole, it was two rounds ago against Washington and they dug out of it with three-straight wins. The Penguins also were buoyed by the fact they were good enough to win Games 1 and 2.

They had more shots, more chances and more time of possession than the Capitals, but lost both games by a single goal. Alex Ovechkin was the difference in Game 2, but there was very little frustration.

Even though the Penguins have outshot Detroit in each of the first two games of this Stanley Cup Final, the Capitals don't compare to the Red Wings and Pittsburgh can't say it was definitely the better team in Games 1 and 2 at Joe Louis Arena. It also appears the Penguins are quite frustrated.

So while this year's Final may look and feel different than last year's, when Pittsburgh also trailed 2-0 but appeared dazed and confused after being outscored, 7-0, the Penguins still have to win four of five against Detroit to win the Stanley Cup, starting Tuesday in Game 3 (8 p.m. ET, VERSUS, CBC, RDS).

"We have been able to outshoot a good Detroit team, but they have been able to get the timely goals," Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said after Game 2. "That is what they have done better and as a result they've got two wins. We have to continue to get to the offensive zone and their goalie, look for the loose pucks and build on that."

The Penguins' frustrations boiled over at the end of Game 2 when Maxime Talbot speared Osgood, pushing the goalie onto his back and starting a fracas that would up with Evgeni Malkin losing all of his upper body equipment in a fight with Henrik Zetterberg.

Malkin was assessed an instigator penalty, and since it was within the final five minutes, according to rule 47.22 it comes with an automatic one-game suspension pending review of the incident. After that review, the League rescinded the instigator penalty so Malkin will be available Tuesday.

Lets Go Pittsburgh!

"BEWARE OF THE PENGUINS!"

I wish they would show outside the arena a little more. I'd like to get a clearer picture of how many people are out there watching the game and what the big screen looks like.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing... probably a really cool scene.

We got a good one so far... 1 goal away from a 3-0 lead. B )

I like how the arena PA system played Slayer's "Raining Blood" to start the game.

slayer, metallica, megadeth, and overall some better choice in songs..

cant complain with that.

im hoping this turns into a decent series rather then a white wash.

see what happens.

but a better game this time around anyways.

im hoping for a Pens win, although realistically, i see the Wings winning back to back.
