Devils defenseman Paul Martin was excused from the team’s practice today in New Jesrey for “personal reasons,” a team spokesperson said.

I don’t know if that means that Martin won’t be accompanying the team on its flight to Atlanta later this afteroon for Tuesday’s game against the Thrashers. Martin was given the night off Saturday in Carolina to rest, but did participate in pre-game warm-ups.

As I mentioned earlier, Devils defenseman Paul Martin was excused from the team’s practice today in New Jersey for “personal reasons.”. Martin is not flying to Atlanta with the team today, but is going to meet up with the team here.

My logic tells me that we should win this game because Division Title is on the line. However, if the Thrashers win would certainly gives the Rags and Flyers pressure as well. Overall, I'm rooting for a three-point night: NJ wins in OT/SO would be the best scenario.

I just want a win. The Devils success is much more important than the Rags failure.
