I never got a tattoo, but I've been working on a monogram for myself, and it's the first thing I've even considered getting a tattoo of. Of course, I'm probably not going to like it in 2 days, let alone 20 years, so I won't act hasty.

So SC, what you're saying is that one's number should be retired solely based on that player's skill on the ice, which is almost the same as saying it should be solely based on stats. Treating retired numbers like this would be like giving MVP awards to the guy who put up the best numbers. I think it's important to recognize the builders of your team and show that your club values loyalty, dedication, leadership, and perserverance. If the Devils were at the same stage in their existence as the Red Wings, you're not going to retire someone like Dano's number, but you can't ignore that Dano has been here nearly since the beginning.

How could you sue the guy that took the shot?!? That's ridiculous. Damn. I hope they would have lost if it went to court. Why not also sue the company that made the stick used, the company the made the puck, the zamboni driver, everyone who skated on the ice after it was resurfaced, and the people who sharpened their skates? I mean, they all had some part in that shot being deflected over the glass and hitting that girl. I just lost all sympathy for that girl's family.

I hate the netting. I hate sitting in the corners where there is an abrupt change where the net ends. This bugs the hell out of me. I also believe it makes my enjoyment of the game feel less pure.

I drew a slashing penalty on the goalie this Thursday. Hey, no whistle and I see the puck, I poke at it. Even if it's jammed under your pad. Sorry. Of course, we were up something like 5-0 at that point, so the guy was probably frustrated. I also took a slapshot from the hardest shooter on our team straight in the asscheek, then put the rebound (off my ass) in the net. Haha. That was sweet.

Ack, I need to get some cheapo gloves. Don't want to wreck my nice new hockey gloves. I didn't see if anyone answered my question before... what kind of surface is the Fords rink?

I'll probably wind up throwing my goalie gear in the car, too, just in case. I have everything except a chest protector and a helmet. My glove sucks, though. Ever go into a hockey shop and try out a $200+ catcher? Man, those things are pre-broken in. My POS catcher isn't even broken in after years of use. Thus, I have a hard time actually catching things with it.

Why the hell do we have UMich and Notre Dame plates? Some bigwigs go to school there, or something?
