    Fischler 7/20/04

Am I the only one that hates their uniforms? Nope. Me too.
  2. Yup, I made it. Thanks for the compliment.
  3. I'd make the trade for Ruutu, but not for the #3. They wasted plenty of money on Gilmour way back when!

    Where are they now??

It's a city/canton in Switzerland. It means "train" in German.
  5. C'est tout. That's all!
  6. wtf. double post?! >
  7. Hrm. Hints. One is Finnish One has a very familier surname to Devils fans One has the same surname as an early Canadian PM One has the initials "LM"
  8. Seriously. If these "professional writers" cannot even get the positions correct should they really be allowed to vote on such things? O_o
  9. Erickson was added. Chevrier is listed 2nd on the table tho. There are four left. They played a total of 32 games for the Devils in the 80s with, I'm not kidding, only 1 victory between them! FWIW the guy with the victory is the most memorable. Since they're obscure, those who already made three answers can go again.
  10. Two added but Henry never made it to the NHL.
  11. Updated. Seven left.
  12. Since the franchise moved to New Jersey 24 goaltenders have played for the Devils in a regular season game. Many are obvious, some are obscure, name them all! I'll start the list off with Mr. Future Hall of Famer. 1 Martin Brodeur 2 Alain Chevrier (Hasan) 3 Jeff Reese (Hasan) 4 J-F Damphousse (Hasan) 5 Peter Sidorkiewicz (Rowdyfan) 6 Rich Shulmistra (Rowdyfan) 7 Corey Schwab (Belizarius) 8 Scott Clemmensen (Belizarius) 9 Chris Terreri (Belizarius) 10 John Vanbiesbrouck (IAmCanadian27) 11 Chico Resch (redruM) 12 Ron Low (Pepperkorn) 13 Mike Dunham (redruM) 14 Craig Billington (RoughDraft) 15 Kirk McLean (oofrostonoo) 16 Sean Burke (oofrostonoo) 17 Sam St-Laurent (oofrostonoo) 18 Bob Sauv
  13. I like the trivia board (shock) so I hope it remains. I certainly enjoyed taking part in the contest, but I'd enjoy informal "competitions" or random questions just as much. You may as well keep it for the off-season since there is usually less news. The worst that could happen is it fell dormant, at which time a decision to eliminate it would be obvious. Also, it's hardly a big deal but I think the music/entertainment trivia threads might fit in better on a music/entertainment forum than they do on the hockey trivia one? Now that the contest is over it might not matter as much though.
  14. Thanks. I'm pretty lucky that I won. It was neck and neck and, er, neck with Section and Derek for a very long time, before they dropped off a bit with missed days and whatnot. Otherwise it would have been a dogfight. Also Petey seemed to have an insane correct answer %. He had to be over 97% and some of the questions were really hard! Plus it's all too easy to make bonehead mistakes, believe me. If he started at the beginning he'd have had hundreds more points than anyone else. So, my hat is off to him. He is unreal. O_O Anyway, this contest has been a lot of fun so thanks to everyone for participating and Don for taking what must have been an ungodly number of hours to run it. I love trivia games, especially hockey trivia. When I was younger I read a lot of hockey books. Now I'm embarassed of some of the things I remember. I guess it finally paid off. ps. Hasan, I am actually proud to be from New Jersey (originally) and a Devils fan since Day One.
  15. OK, the two random numbers are: .. *drumroll* ... ....... *suspense* ..... .......... 298... and....... 1076. Congrats to whoever that is.
  16. They screwed up the question. It was the second round and they misspelled his name!
  17. That's a well known record. He was the first NHL star, a hall of famer, and also has the record for most GPG in a season (over 2!). Not exactly obscure.
  18. The dark=home/white=away change is supposed to be permanent, so from here on out it'll be this way. Also, the Leafs wore their white third for every road game of the playoffs. You're allowed to wear your third jersey in the playoffs only if you wear it for every possible game. You pick two shirts and that's it.
  19. Can you please clarify this question. There are *many* draft years from which the top three overall picks played in the NHL this season. Perhaps you want the oldest such draft to own this distinction?
  20. #4 is "Take on me" by A-ha. The hint gave it away.
  21. Doh! Sorry about that. I should have just given both answers to play it safe and give myself an advantage.

  23. Hockey Canada says it's Gretzky for 1991. http://www.hockeycanada.ca/e/teams/mens/wo...1991/index.html Actually, in 2002 Granato alone led the team in scoring with 10. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/...TAT-W-WOMUSA-R/
