Agreed. It might be somewhat interesting to see how he’d deal with Subban, but I don’t want him going all curmudgeon on guys like Jack, Bratt, Mercer, etc. He’s much better suited for a more established team full of veterans. The Devils need someone more like Montgomery, who is used to dealing with younger players from his time coaching at the college level. All of our best players not named Dougie Hamilton are that age anyway.

I’d be down for Montgomery.

I was pretty against hiring Bruce Boudreau because of his “playoff failures” I would kill for Bruce Boudreau right now.

I didn’t have much hope for Walsh being anything more than a slightly better Will Butcher, but it’s nice to see he’s producing in the AHL. If Ty Smith doesn’t get his sh!t together at some point Walsh could be the future QB of our PP.

More like the first 5 games. 1st 5 - 0 points Next 5 - 2 goals 3 assists 5 points He’s currently 1st in points, 1st in assists, 3rd in goals, and 2nd in shots. 3 game wining goals, too. He’s been fantastic since right after that slow start.

Idk what more people want from Bratt. 24 points in 26 GP and leading the team in scoring. That’s an A in my book.

It’s only a complete overstatement when you compare him to players like Connor fvcking McDavid, or the greatest goal scorer of all time lol. Personally, I would go with something like “insanely” productive to describe those two. For this team though? Zacha has been very productive over the last year or so, imo.

Or Timo Meier, or Mikko Rantanen, or Matthew Barzal, or Kyle Connor… we got who we got though. Have to let that sh!t go. At least Zacha has turned into a decent player.
