I mean, Ovechkin has been the best player a number of years he's been in the league (or at least right there with Crosby), but he doesn't even seem to be in the conversation atm. Jagr's longevity is insane though, and Messier has the numbers, and all those Cups.
Top 5 what? Fowards? Probably. If you're talking top 5 players in general not so sure. Would you put him in over a Bobby Orr? Or whoever you consider the best goalie of all time?
Hell, the team up the road from me (the Jackets) have never even won a playoff SERIES! Let alone a Cup. That might change this year, but you have to keep things in perspective.
Amazing what happens when guys like Zacha and Palmieri are scoring. Loving both their game's right now.
On another note, I feel really bad for Jerome Iginla. I've always liked him, and he deserves better than to finish out his career on such a terrible team.
That's just it though, you have to be REALLY lucky. There's teams like the Blue Jackets that have made the playoffs like 2 times in 17 years, and piled up a ton of high draft picks, and they're just now putting a team that looks like a contender on the ice.
I'll take Lovejoy over Moore any day of the week. Moore is easily the worst defender on the team.
Anyway, I just got in for the day and I was going to watch the game I recorded, but judging from this thread there's better things to do with my time. What a kick in the balls after waiting almost a week for some Devils hockey.
His pizza sucks, but damn those Red Wings teams of the 90's & 00's were something. How appropriate the Wings 25 year postseason streak will probably end with him this year.
A Zacha would be cool if you're going to get one from that night. They have the Czech connection. And if Zacha turns out to be a special player *fingers crossed* it could kind if be a passing of the torch type moment.
