Elias Sports Bureau
Langenbrunner and Rafalski will be wearing their usual numbers, re: the World Cup roster at the USA Hockey site. Gomer will be wearing 19, as the 23 was already scooped up by Mathieu Schneider.
sammyk
Damn, so my Team USA Rafalski jersey is now inaccurate? Why did he wear 3 for the Olympics, who was wearing 28? Me forgets.

I never did find out why he did that. I like to think it was honoring Daneyko. I have a Rafalski USA practice jersey with No. 3, I don't consider it out of date, I'll still proudly wear it. In fact, it's prob the jersey I've worn the most. And not just cause it's what I was wearing when Luongo pulled me onto his lap.

I always thought Rafalski and Dano as a pair would be cute -- like Detroit & Windsor

I think Raf has all the respect in the world for him. The way he waited back in the line on Dano's night to get his moment was geek-cool. Is there someone wearing #3 on the WC squad? Maybe he wanted #3 but couldn't get it so stuck with his usual.

Elias Sports Bureau
Aaron Miller's no. 3. Maybe he decided, hey, the no. 3 thing didn't work for me at the Olympics (despite the silver) and I have two Cups with 28, so let's go with the old 2-8! Well, that makes sense then, Miller has been around a lot longer so he gets the preference. He probably did want the #3.

Deadmarsh isn't on the team this year either. I think he wore 28 during the Olympics.
