L Posted February 20, 2004 Author Share Posted February 20, 2004 You make some valid points Tri, and I too think that it stinks that the other Eastern powers obtain pieces while we sit on the sideline. I also feel less confident this year due to the players we have lost (and not replaced). When I referred to depth before I said depth on the big club/prospects. You said: 'but the team has a lot of depth problems right now and there are no players in the minors to fill them. The problem is not that we don't have the prospect depth now, we do, I think. Part of the problem is that Gionta, Berglund, and Rupp were never tradeable commotidies and neither has developed the way we may have wanted to.' The Flyers are operating from a position of power, they are fine tuning their roster (seemingly with every passing week or injury). Thankfully they are neglecting the goaltending position, and moving alot of their young defensive prospects (St. Jacques, Vandermeer, and Wyoywitka). Who the heck is he? The best thing Chicago got was the 2nd round pick. Zhamnov was probably only added because Roenick might not comeback due to his concussion. Otherwise, this deal makes no sense.
